This product is trash. Why did old spice feel the need to change the formula? It was perfect the way it was. This new formula is sticky and doesn’t hold as well. It also flakes and leaves white specks in your hair making it look like dandruff after moving your hair around. Also, it leaves your hair feeling stiff and straw-like. What i loved about the old formula was that it wasn’t sticky and it didn’t flake no matter how much you moved it and it held your hair in place. I’ve been using this product for YEARS so it’s especially disappointing, and frankly, sad to me that Old spice changed the formula. Now I’m going to have to look for a different product. Old spice is breaking hearts out here 3 R.I.P old spice Pomade :( Read more
This new formulation is terrible. Sticky when applying, leaves your hair feeling dirty. Smells good but that’s all. Make sure you buy the old formulation for a great product. Read more
The new version is horrid! The old version is the best hair product you will ever use! The new version leaves my hair dry, and very sticky. It does not hold my hair well at all. For someone who runs my fingers through my hair often, this new product is the worst! The old version has the best smell, get completed on the smell of my hair when getting haircuts all the time. It holds my hair great, and I have kind of longer hair that I use to slick up. It also leaves my hair soft, and you can't tell I use product when running your fingers through my hair. Buy the old version, the new version is trash. So if you like having trash hair, buy the new stuff. Read more
This pomade is only $6 so my expectations weren't that high. The first thing that stood out to me (and probably my favorite part of this pomade) is how easy it is to scoop out. It doesn't get super sticky on your hands like other pomades do and is overall a pleasurable feeling. The product is labelled as a medium hold but I disagree with this. Depending on what hair style you're trying to achieve you might have to use hair spray to keep your hair in place. I have medium hair and whenever I try to keep my hair up, it falls apart within an hour or so. Using hair spray fixes this issue for me.The smell is great. I would describe it as the smell of vanilla ice cream. It's not too strong but it's not completely unnoticeable either. Probably my second favorite aspect of this pomade.Overall it's a decent pomade especially because it's only $6. If you have long hair I would probably spend a few more dollars towards getting a higher quality pomade. However, if you have short/medium hair and you just want a product that makes your hair look decent, then go ahead and give this a try. Alternatively, it may be a better idea to spend a few more dollars and get a better pomade like Suavecito or Layrite. Read more
I have fine hair which won't stay in place. I've used Redken for several years now, and it did a pretty good job, although it left my hair a bit stiff. Eventually, the product became price-prohibitive. This Old Spice pomade had received positive reviews and the price was attractive, so I thought I'd give it a shot. It's great. It holds my hair in place without being stiff or looking greased back or like a beauty salon hairsprayed it into concrete. I was a bit concerned the Old Spice smell would be way too old school. However, it smells great, but without being overpowering. A little goes a long way, and because it's not liquid I haven't had to place it in a clear plastic bag when going through TSA screening. Thumbs up. Read more
This pomade replaced an old Paul Mitchell pomade that I had ran out of and I can say I think I may have found a new go to. While this pomade isn't a super strong hold pomade it does the job for my short, straight and manageable hair. I wasn't looking for the Don Draper effect but rather a product that would hold its shape yet allow me to play with my hair a little bit throughout the day so I wasn't constrained so much. For the price this is an excellent purchase just make sure you know what effect you want before buying! Christmas shopping for my 27 year old son is not easy. I saw a nearly empty container of this Old Spice Spiffy Sculpting Pomade in his bathroom and clicked a photo so I could get him the same thing. I was surprised at the price. Similar men's pomades are cheaper. But this is what he was using so I bought it. As usual, I gave it to him when I got it rather than for Christmas. He said it was his favorite because it isn't greasy or oily but it holds his wavy hair the way he likes it held. His hair is medium length and has always been hard to style so he buzzed it off. Now he wears it longer and, I think, it is in part due to him finding a product that holds his hair without making it stiff or sticky. I do admit, his hair looks great and it also smells good.I use loads of styling products so I gave it a shot on my long, layered hair and it's even good for long hair. It isn't sticky and doesn't flake. It has a matte finish but doesn't dull the hair. A little goes a long way. I wouldn't use it because it smells like a guy and I have many others but it works great for my son and, although it is pricier than similar pomades, less is needed and the result is good so it's worth it. This pomade is amazing! I use it on my 2yo’s hair (medium thickness) and it does exactly what I hoped for, and more! It’s definitely a medium hold, so I can casually style his hair a certain way without it being too stiff or weighed down; if you’re looking for something to really lock hair in place, go for a stronger hold. But this allows me to get the effortless style I want, and then, when he inevitably messes it up, I just give a quick swipe or finger comb-through and it’s right back to where I want it. It has *zero* shine (in a great way), like it promises, and isn’t overly tacky in the hair. Also, somehow after several days of the pomade being in his hair, sleeping on it, and going unwashed, his hair still isn’t greasy or gummed up. Rather, it’s soft and strong, as if using a leave-in conditioner. The scent is fairly noticeable (but not overwhelming), especially at first, but its actually pretty nice, and wears off quickly. Highly recommend this pomade!! Read more

Well it's been months since I've had a real haircut thanks to the pandemic and the current lockdown and consequently my hair is about as long as it was in the '60s. So having pomade is great for keeping my hair from the wild look of some of my associates. It doesn't smell strong so it doesn't offend anyone. And as the saying used to goes "a little dab will do ya'" so cost wise, it goes a long way. Read more
This is marketed as the “new version” but it’s absolutely nothing like the original. This is waxy, small volume, not very water soluble. Need the original back — this stuff is garbage. Not only will I not buy this one again, I won’t buy the brand again. Completely inadequate product. Read more
Performance is.. Well.. Fine. It's fine. For my purpose it works. I've got really short hair. If you've got longer hair or heavier hair (is that a thing?) you'll either need a lot of this stuff or a better pomade. The smell is a little strong but fades as time goes by. I'll probably buy it again. Read more
