For those of you that say this doesn't work - it's probably user error - because this stuff is AMAZING! It makes your skin feel like silk and immediately minimizes your pores, which has a direct impact on oil production. When I say "user error" I'm referring to how you apply this, along with your makeup regimen. Like any other face product, you must give it at least a few minutes to set, before applying your makeup. If you apply your makeup immediately, you're essentially not allowing the moisturizer to work its magic. Also, apply this with a cotton swab, not your hands. Your hands naturally have oil on them and can transfer to your face, but also your hands will absorb some of the product.My advice - dont rush the process. I'm always on a hunt for products that work as well as described. I have acne prone skin and cystic acne. I mean my face is a hot mess. And there is a layer of oil on the top that makes me look like I'm constantly sweaty. Its gross. But this product has really helped with some of these issues. It's not a miracle product and it doesnt cure anything. But I've been using it for a month now and it doesnt make me breakout, it doesnt let my face get stupid oily and it feels good on the skin. It is moisturizing but what is super cool is that its lightweight. I know for everyone things work differently and I'm so happy that this works for me.Upon receiving the product, there was a little card that thanked me for buying from a small business which I wasnt aware that this was. I feel like small businesses always put a bit more effort in their products. These guys nailed the product. I recommend this to everyone with similar problems to mine! I have spent years and hundreds of dollars on lotions and products that claim to be able to control the Exxon Valdez of the skin on my face. At best, the good ones will give me 3 to 4 hours of relief before it all slides down into my eyes. But...this lotion is my lifesaver... It can get me from 7am to 3pm in one piece. My classroom is so dry and my skin just knows it needs oil but this lotion gets me through the day. Even more. This lotion has saved my eyes. I've been testing this product out, and I love it!! I was surprised by how matte it kept my skin, but didn't dry me out at all. This stuff really impressed me, and there was no white cast. Which I really appreciated since I have darker, caramel colored skin. It's also great that it's not a tiny bottle, but a good size. I would repurchase this again. I was buying one from Sephora that was really pricey, but this actually keeps me matte longer. And I like that the ingredients are words I can actually pronounce!! I had high hopes for Lauda Botanical's oil control moisturizer. Unfortunately, the product fell flat for me in most aspects.At first, I liked the light consistency of the product. The strong, rather unappealing scent did not reinforce my good first impression: it smelled like a cinnamon candy blended with something rather putrid. I honestly held my breath when applying the moisturizer, hoping the smell would dissipate (it did, or I got used to it).The problem began when I applied the product. My whole face turned light pink and stung a bit. Because the stinging stopped after a minute or two, I did not remove the product from my face.Upon arriving at work, I glanced at my face in the rear view mirror of my car, and noticed my usual oily sheen appearing on my cheeks. After teaching my first class, I went to the restroom and discovered my nose and cheeks were very red and inflamed; my nose was especially red and irritated (see photos). I gently washed my face, but the redness (later accompanied by soreness) on my nose persisted for a couple days.I returned the product, since it caused such a negative reaction on my face. This product smells like cinnamon so if you like fireball or red candies it’s for you. Personally I liked the smell. It was light weight and a nice primer for me. The thing I didn’t like was it didn’t control my oily skin which is why I bought it. My skin was oily again an hour after using it. Didn’t help the oil or the matting of my makeup. Won’t be purchasing again Bc it’s just not right for my skin. Which is very oily. Also didn’t help breakouts but also didn’t make them worse. I was honestly very surprised with how well this moisturizer works! The oil control is absolutely amazing already (after using it for only two weeks). My skin is completely shine free for almost half the day - which is saying a lot for me. But the best part is that it has been gradually getting longer and longer that I can go without having to use an oil blotter. The reason I only gave this product four stars is because my skin has gotten a little bit dry and flaky. However, my skin is incredibly sensitive, so this is probably due to the CHANGE in products rather than this specific product. Overall, I am very satisfied, and I will definitely be purchasing this product again as soon as mine starts running out.***UPDATE***I just bought this product again because I love it so much!!
