Me and several members of my family have had medications over the years whose administration has required the use of items that can only be disposed of through the use of a Sharps container. I finally got around to collecting all of them in one place and took them to my local fire department which accepts these kinds of items but was told they can only accept them when they're in a Sharps container. I had a lot of items and the usual little square containers hold less than half of what I needed to dispose of.I searched Amazon, found these and they are perfect! They're very strong, durable and huge! Not only do they fit everything I have to dispose of, but they even have room to fit several months more and the opening on the top allows for quick and easy disposal of new items. And since I'm not sure when I take these to the fire department if I'll have to surrender the Sharps container, too (likely will), the cost of these was really good as well. Some of the little ones can be very pricey especially considering they don't hold a lot and the container cost would add up quickly.So if you use items which need to be disposed of in a Sharps container and want to save money and minimize how often you have to find a place to turn them in at, these are a great buy!! My husband is diabetic & uses 2 types of insulin. The other type of needle boxes we had gotten before were very hard to get multiple disposable needle pens into. Flap in top would get stuck open. New box opens easier & closes with our much effort. Will definitely order more as we need to do so. This style holds more pens. Thanks. Read more

When I read the description I must have been tired. I was thinking it was two, one gallon containers. No sleepy head, it is two, two gallon containers. So as I empty my quart container into my first two gallon container, my used sharps look so lonely in the bottom of a two gallon container. So sad. These should last me the rest of my life and they cost about the same as the quart containers. What a deal. Read more

Our dog was diagnosed with diabetes. I wanted a large container to hold the many needles we are now producing (two a day).
