I was curious when I saw this as to what purpose ground walnut shell powder serves to humans as a supplement. While there are many claims for its antimicrobial properties without evidence, it seems that it may have a real use as an anti-parasitic... so I thought I would give it a try, since you cannot easily obtain human anti-parasite pills anymore. So far, I cannot tell the difference... but it theory if anyone has an undiagnosed parasitic infection it might be me due to all of my international travels. I will rotate these on and off for the next few weeks until I see if there is any difference.In the meantime, I am giving them four stars as they are from a reasonably reputable brand and they do not seem to have any side effects in their capsule form. I purchased this based on research that it could provide a number of benefits, one of them being able to regulate the ability to go to the bathroom (by fixing too much or too little), and it definitely seems to work better than the fiber and laxatives I was taking (dulcolax, miralax, and fiber - all generics of course). It seems to work more effectively than any of that of allowing me to go at least once a day and soft enough that it doesn't hurt, and is not so large that I have issues flushing it. In addition, since it's in a capsule there is no taste, and it has not caused any stomach or other digestive upset. My research suggested you take it away from other medications because it can affect their absorbtion, so I take it about 5 hours after my morning meds (approx 3PM) and about the same after my evening meds (around midnight) - I take it with my Melatonin (10mg) at least a half hour before bed, with a bit of food as recommended. I usually either "go" before I go to bed or not long after I wake up, sometimes both, depending on how much or what I eat. Right now I have not noticed anything else different, but I take a LOT of supplements for a variety of reasons, including to minimize the risk of C19, so I feel healthy overall and haven't really been "sick" in years. NOW is one of my preferred supplement brands and I've always had good experience with them and will pick them first if they have the product I need and the price is reasonable, and I felt this price was very reasonable, especially for trying something new. My research also suggested to not take this for more than 6 weeks continuously, and there are 100 in the bottle with a suggested 2 per day so that is just about that. Not sure how long I should pause before buying another bottle if my "problem" comes back, but right now I'm using it twice a day unless I forget to take the afternoon one.
