Grade B is hard to find in stores, but grade B is what you want! It's more flavorful, and grade B tends to have more protein and vitamins in it compared to grade A.Grades A and B are made with the same process, by the way. A and B do not mean quality in this context. The difference is timing... grade B is harvested from trees as they begin to bud, at the end of the season. Grade A is lighter and has more sugar, and historically more desirable or sought after product. That's all. The flavor of Grade B can be described as "intense", and not all people like it (it's not crazy intense, but buy a smaller bottle if you're just trying it out.)I find the grade B to be better for cooking, as it's more flavor to less sugar. The taste is great and not at all over sweet. However I do have an aggravation with the lid! I can’t get it on so it pours straight out frontward. It ours from the side light a person drinking sour mash! Read more

Recommended by a family member and I must say, I'm so glad I gave it a try.Be aware the taste is MUCH different from Grade A. It is darker with a more earthy taste. Absolutely NO aftertaste. Not overly sweet and sticks to the food better than the Grade A. Grade A tended to just drip right off.I like it allot. I have used it on Pancakes, Waffles (Home made of course) and breakfast sausage. Delish!! My Cousin suggested I dip a piece of bacon. I did and wow, it was awesome!.I'm going to get so friggin fat. :( Read more

I have been using Now Foods Maple Syrup for years. I have tried other brands but none contain the consistency of the 'Now' brand. I have found in other brands a watery texture that washes off the pancake to the edges of the plate as if it were trying to escape. 'Now' Syrup, spends some time engaging with the pancake to perform a delicious slow dance waiting to be eaten. The grade of the syrup is marked grade 'A' but is actually grade 'B.' Grade 'B' to me is more beneficial as far as processing and retaining nutrients goes. Read more

We've used other NOW products, realizing we're trading price for quality, but didn't expect this was simply not good. We'll keep and use it until it's gone, but not in all the same uses we've had for maple syrup. Smoothies? Yes. Some other applications, yet. Everything? No. It didn't have that truly nice, strong smell that really good (formerly Grade B) maple syrup typically has, so I put a fairly large amount in a spoon, and put that in my mouth to just enjoy (I don't do it often, but I love doing that occasionally). Not only didn't it give a really wonderful flavor experience in my mouth (I ended up swallowing it fairly quickly rather than just enjoying it), but there was actually a sort of bitter aftertaste for the better part of an hour afterward.I've since used it in a smoothie, and did not notice that aftertaste when mixed, so I know we can use it in some things - just not others. Between this and another NOW product we just got this week (an Amazon Vine essential oil from NOW), I think we've about decided to pay a little more in the future and avoid NOW products. Organic ought to taste better than this does. The 3-star rating is at the low end of that rating. Read more

I use maple syrup a lot while baking, so I go through it pretty quickly. This is a great price for such a large quantity of organic syrup - much cheaper than what is sold in stores (I've seen small 8 oz. bottles priced at almost $10). The quality has always seemed good and I've never had any issues with it. Definitely recommend for those who frequently use maple syrup. Read more

Read more

Très bonne qualité. Saveur excellente. Produit bio donc aucun additif suspect. Prix un peu plus élevé que la moyenne mais compensé par la très bonne tenue du produit. De plus, site très sérieux (Now Foods). A recommander donc. Read more
