My hair was falling out, dry and thin. This thing isn’t a miracle potion but it does work, it gave life and strength to my hair. And some thickness too. It nourished my hair deeply. I put this on for a few weeks straight every couple days either all day long or for many hours (and then showered it off) I did it a lot and after a month I realized doing these deep conditioning treatments for my hair was really helpful. If even put it on my hair and put my hair up and just go out for the day with it on. Sometimes that’s what it takes. If you want to soften, and heal your dead hair. (I used to straight iron my hair a lot, I stopped for a while to just heal my poor hair!) If you’re gonna do it right - You just gotta put in the time (hourssss) with this stuff all over. I have become a huge fan of homemade natural care products and after reading about how beneficial castor oil is and how many ways you can utilize it, I ordered this 2-pack and a year and a half later am still enjoying it. I slather a thick layer all over the face and neck nightly, including the eyelashes and eyebrows (my lashes are blonde but now they are incredibly long and much thicker and softer thanks to this ritual). I have long, naturally blonde, wavy hair which tends to be on the dry side as well so I keep one bottle in the shower and mix it in my hands with shampoo and/or conditioner. No greasy residue but enhances the softness tremendously. With using it as a nighttime skin treatment, sometimes I mix it in my hands with other oils (rosehip oil, rose oil, argan oil, frankincense oil, etc), as I read that castor oil delivers other moisturizers more deeply into the skin and so far my own results and experience support that. Oils I used to massage in at night to some positive effect now leave my skin looking like I am 15-20 years younger. I also tend to leave it on all day whenever I am off work and just relaxing at home. Winter here is so dry and cold, it's a great way to avoid dryness and chapping so I even work it into my hands sometimes. Yes, it's sticky, but not really oily and that sticky quality is why it won't dry up or evaporate quickly.Personally, I have never once experienced any laxative effect despite using a really thick layer on my skin every single night but it seems that others have so just be aware of that potential side effect. I started using this when I started massaging more, so a bit less than 10 years ago. I tend to use it on feet, areas with harder skin that needs the most help. It is thick, and that's the best part to me. I use it on myself too. Well, it came time to get some more, and now is my preferred brand for oil...though I have tried several to save money, they aren't as good for certain...and you get what you pay for even if you aren't saving all that much.
