This product is advertised as being waterproof (as of March 26th, 2020), but after noticing a few specks of water on my shirt under the cape, I performed a test, gently pooling water on the exterior surface (tried both sides, actually) of the cape, and watched with disappointed as the water dripped right through the material. My neighbor is a 79 year old retired beautician has been cutting my hair since high school I’m now 36. ( and cuts my hair much better than the barber) . Her tiny basement shop decor is pink , so I got this as a little something for her shop use. Although it’s pink , instead of the usual huge plastic cape she uses to wash my hair....she shampooed my hair using this on me...I’m a 6’2 guy with a 15&1/2 inch neck - for shirts. I really like this cape. I'm natural and I have to constantly spray lots of water and use all kinds of leave conditioners and gels and it does an awesome job at protecting my clothes. The only thing that bothers me is the Velcro closure - it's stiff and scratchy and it irritates my neck. I have to put a washcloth over the closure to protect my neck... other than that I really like it. Read more

I love this cape, which can be turned sideways so the shorter place where it fastens with Velcro is not in the front but off of one shoulder. It’s still completely covers that shoulder. I needed something to drape over my shoulders while I home-colored my hair. I usually pinned a towel over my shoulders, but I found myself having to re-adjust the towel often as it did not hold well. It was also difficult to remove because the pin would entangle and snag in the fabric pile of the towel. I grew tired of this and went online to find one of those covers that the hairdresser puts over you at the salons. Instead, I happened upon this item. I liked that it is smaller and leaves the arms free for coloring my hair. This cape is lightweight and easy to get in and out of because it has an adjustable Velcro closure. I laundered the cape after use in cool to warm water and tumble dried it on a low heat setting. The cape is still intact without holes or tearing. I’m very pleased with this purchase and recommend it if you have a need to protect your shirt while doing hair and makeup or simply need a way to help keep dye from dripping onto your skin. I love the full coverage it gives and it’s perfect for when I’m doing my hair and don’t want to get product all over my neck (I have curly hair) so I’d definitely get this for make up or hair! Until I received this cape, I would clip a towel up around my neck whenever I had to trim my beard hairs. Nothing's worse than having cut hairs all over a T-shirt or down one's neck making things itchy and uncomfortable. This cape is durable enough to last with a modicum of care, is lightweight, is large enough to cover neck, shoulders and upper arms, secures easily with a Velcro strap and shakes clean when the trimming's done. Lightweight. Washes well. The only thing I don't like is the velcro closing at back of neck. I had to remove it and put a snap on., but that's a personal issue with it causing me to itch. Otherwise, it's great. Will probably buy another. Read more
