I wanted a cordless shaver for my 8 year old son. I sport a baldie and the clippers that I use for myself are suited for that kind of hair cut. For my son though, I needed something more adjustable in the guards so I took a chance on this cordless trimmer. I planned to experiment on myself on my goatee before using it on him just so that I could acclimate myself to the various settings and guards. However, he was home now because of the whole COVID-19 crisis happening in the world so I figured, if I mess up his hair, so what? Nobody but me and my wife would see it anyway. LOL - Lo and behold, I was pretty impressed with this trimmer.First thing that I noticed right away was how light it was. It was a plus not having an electric cord that I had to navigate around while using it. I checked out the various settings for hair trimming length and there were quite a few. My son always wanted a mohawk so this was the best opportunity to give him one. The cut ended up being flawless. I'm a huge stickler for precision and I was being extremely careful in giving my son the best cut that his dad could give considering that I had no hair cutting skills at all. I started with a setting that would leave more hair. Then I slowly took it down another level and another, each one providing a lower cut than the one before.But I was truly impressed with the precision of the settings and the fine cuts that each one provided. I wondered after reaching the desired length (shortness of the hair) if I could also use it as a liner and I was surprised that I could do that too. I don't think that I read anything related to it being a liner, but there it was. To be honest with you, my expectations weren't set that high when I purchased it, but I found myself pretty satisfied with it once I began using it from the rip. At the time of this writing, I've used it on my son about 5 times and it has continued to live up to my first impression. All this under one charge at that. An impressive feature is you can see how much charge is left in the trimmer via a screen that shows the charge in percentage. And it has provided 5 good cuts on 1 charge. Overall I am very happy with the clippers. The lowest guard setting is 3 mm and I was hoping for something a little shorter. If you take the guard off and use the clippers adjuster to the highest setting...it is a big difference than using the 3 mm guard. It would be nice if they could bridge that gap with a smaller guard. After almost 3 months of lockdown and not hair salon opened. I have no choice but take a chance and purchased this trimmer set. The price is very good consider everything in the set. The trimmer came per charged so I was able to use it immediately. My wife is not a stylist or hair dresser. This was her first time using a hair trimmer and I first cut by my wife. The trimmer was small enough for her hand and not too small for a good grip. She had a little trouble in the beginning but didn't take her too long to get used to the little machine. The comb guides are excellent. The cut came out pretty good considered that I was her first cut. I even used the trimmer on my elderly father who also suffered the long hair crisis because of this Pandemic. I purchased this to cut my own hair during this Coronavirus pandemic. Unfortunately, this unit product is incorrectly described. It is really only a beard & body hair trimmer. It does NOT come with the right length "guides" (the black plastic pieces that clip on over the blade) in order to cut head hair. The largest size guide is only about .4th of an inch. So unless you have a shaved head or are going into the military as a new recruit with a nearly shaved head. Do not buy this! Just a waste of $50 :( Oh well, live and learn. In this case learn from my mistake :) If you need something for your head hair like I do to give yourself a haircut, you need an actual "Hair clipper" which will come with 8 guides numbered 1-8, with #8 being a 1-inch guide. My wife had bought these clippers for me when an other brand clipper had quit working for me. These clippers come in a set with scissors, extensions and whatnot. There's even a travel bag and comb.On the clippers themselves is the ability to adjust the length trimmed. The range is .8 to 2.5, I want to say it's mm. The switch has a regular mode and turbo speed in succession of each other when you turn on the clippers. Above the switch is the LED display, which shows the battery life remaining and the two different modes mentioned before. At the bottom is where the plug port can be found. A USB recharging cord is provided, but not the wall plug. I just use an older wall plug from a phone I no longer have.These clippers come with a set of 4 extensions, scissors and comb, along with a brush for cleaning and a handy bag to keep it all in. The extensions are 3mm, 6mm, 9mm and 12mm.I've been using these for a couple of weeks and I'm impressed with the gripping of the clippers. They don't feel awkward or clunky or clumsy when I'm cutting my hair. I should mention they also have a ceramic blade.
