Instead, what I have received from them includes methylparaben, ethylparaben, butylparaben, propylparaben, and isobutylparaben. I am very uncomfortable using this on my toddler. I would not even use this product on myself. I hope this is not a misleading advertising. I bought this for my habitual thumb sucking 2yr old. Anytime she had a spare moment her thumb would be in her mouth. Upon opening the product, I was a little confused how much to turn it for the liquid to come out. After a few clicks and nothing coming out I twisted it a little too much so it just started oozing. Probably a good 5 clicks should be enough to get the bristles wet for better application.Hubby and I tried it on ourselves first and this has a strong bitter taste. I was a little worried that it might be too strong for her so I put just a dab on both thumbs right before bed time. It was enough to make “that face” so we went with it. She had no problems going to sleep and didn’t go back to the thumb until late afternoon on 2nd day. Applied it one more time on the 2nd night and she hasn’t sucked her thumb since. I bought this for my 2 year old son to discourage his thumb sucking. I had read, prior to purchasing, that sometimes these bitter polishes don't work on young children because their tastes haven't developed? But that seemed weird to me - gross is gross right? Nixxit came in the mail and I tried it on my own nails before applying it on his thumb. It's VERY bitter and almost made me immediately gag. I felt a little guilty to apply it to his thumb after I tasted how horrible it is but I figured it would work quickly to deter him. It seemed to do the trick for the first day...he pulled his thumb out immediately and said "blach!"...but now on day 3 he doesn't care about it at all and will suck his thumb very quickly after it is applied. I've been chronically chewing my finger nails longer than I can remember im 26 and although I don't really hide my hands anymore it is still embarrassing because it's such a hard habit to kick i literally chew them until they're sore. After use of about 2-3 weeks his nails are growing back and his cuticles are not early as damaged. It also stopped him from eating weird things off his fingers (boogers lol). I highly recommend this product. It is not thick. It dries quick. You cannot tell anything is on his nails after application (I was afraid it would look shiny-it doesn’t).
