Initially I liked this product using it with the City Shield conditioner. However this had caused a waxy, hard build up on my hair which left it feeling like straw. I've had to shampoo my hair using a clarifying shampoo and it is nearly back to it's original condition. Probably another two washings will do it. At first, I liked that this shampoo made my hair feel soft but after time, it did create the waxy build up. I'm going back to using the Nexxus volumizing shampoo as I had no issues with that. I love the shampoo. I was really sad when they start not offering it in retail areas near me. I was stoked to find it on Amazon. I have hair that is quite grimy sometimes, because on my days off I work outside in my yard all day long. This washes away the gram without stripping anything. It’s very moisturizing. I get compliments on my hair all the time. I use the Humectrrss conditioner afterwards, then a cheap Suave rinse ( conditioner) for finishing. I have big fine hair that is a little wavy. I bought this big bottle because I tried a small bottle and really liked it. This was a great price in comparison to other store purchasing -- I love the pump dispenser on top for the shower. I like the conditioner as well, but haven't seen a good price for a big one of those. It has a different scent but good, not an offensive one, kind of earthy and clean. It seems to clean my hair well without stripping it. My daughter has long naturally curly hair and she really likes it too. She can't describe the scent either but we like it! Read more

Nexxus Therappe has been my go to shampoo for the past two years. The abundant keratin and proteins condition my hair to the point where I don't even use conditioner anymore. The City Shield is a cheaper of the Therappe. I use twice as much shampoo to wash my hair, and it is not as shiny and conditioned afterwards. At the current price and usage rate, I will end up paying 60% more per shampoo for the City Shield over the Therappe.Do not recommend. Read more

This product is meant to kinda coat your hair strands to protect your hair from being damaged while also keeping it healthy and sleek looking. I have fine, thin hair so I feel like this is perfectly crafted for me. I wouldn't advise this as a styling creme or something to be used throughout the hair as it can weigh hair down really easily, really quickly. I used just 1 - 2 pumps and rub my palms together and only apply just to the lower lengths of my hair to prevent it from de-volumizing my roots too much or from making my already oily-type hair look greasy. As a smoothing creme and hair protectant, I think it does an excellent job as it make my split ends indistinguishable and keeps my frizzies and flyaways tamed.The scent of this product isn't my most favorite but I don't dislike it or find it nasty to smell, it's just a less familiar, peculiar type of floral fragrance which may be due to the lotus extract in the formula (Nelumbo Nucifera Flower) or from the Yerba Santa flower (Eriodictyon Californicum). Either way I find it pleasant enough and not off-putting to smell. I guess some people are just way more scent-sensitive than I am!I don't think this is a must have in my hair care product cupboard but I do reach for it over some of my other hair serums and cremes. I normally like Nexxus product, however, the use of it is what is poorly executed with this cream.The pump is on the bottom, and when you flip the container over to pump it into your hand, a few dribbles come out - it takes 4 - 5 pumps to get enough out to cover my long thin hair.I apply this inbetween shampooing and conditioning, and leave in for 3-4 minutes (or however long it takes to shave my legs), and rinse out.It *does* have a strong floral scent, but it does become less noticeable once I've conditioned my hair and rinsed it out again. If you don't like strong scents, this is *not* the product for you.I use this once a week, and I found the days I do use it, my hair is amazing and stays in place all day vs the normal floofy mess it becomes halfway through the day.I just know from my thin long hair that applying it on dry hair would lead to a mess and ponytail day, so I haven't tried it on dry/damp hair without rinsing (it's another option for application)Overall, I'd love to love this, but the execution failed, despite the product being effective in making my hair feel and look healthier.
