I've been searching for kid shoes with an arch, and read that New Balance had them. These looked nice upon arrival, but have zero arch. Just a flat insert, same as most other shoes we've looked at recently. Guess we'll have to head back to the Stride Rite store again (wish there was one closer to us.) Not sure why shoe manufactures don't care about proper foot development anymore, but figured others would be interested to know. Read more

There are only a handful of kids shoes that are truly "extra wide," and New Balance is one of the brands that fit. Adding an extra half size "because it's bigger" isn't really good for wide feet, and sometimes can cause blisters. As my kids have little duck feet, we need wide shoes, and these are perfect. The only issue I have is the velcro style: it's a small tab that is threaded through an eyelet and then folded back onto itself. My kid likes to pull the velcro all the way out and then gets frustrated when he can't re-thread it. Based on the picture, it looked like it was just one solid strap that pulled across the top of the shoe to close it, and that's not the case. But the fit is great, and has proven itself to be pretty durable. Read more

I love getting New Balance shoes for my son. When he was younger and not so hard on them, we got him cheaper shoes. Once he started school he started wearing out his shoes really fast. I decided to get him better quality shoes and New Balance fit the bill. I got these for when school starts, but the pair they are replacing lasted the whole year. This is his third pair, and we only have to replace them when he outgrows them. The velcro still works, there aren't holes in the bottoms, etc... Love these Read more

They are easy to get on my 1 year old who bunches his toes and makes it nearly impossible to cram his fat feet into a shoe! I am so happy I got these. They were inexpensive and I get lots of compliments. Thank you NewBalance! Read more

New Balance hook and loop shoes are our goto shoe for our daughter with special needs. They are easy to get on and off, come in wide widths which accommodate her shoe inserts and they are comfortable! We also love that they come in a large variety of colors. Sizing is reliable, so I don't have to worry about having to return. I can order and know it will fit. Read more

Very nice shoes that fit well on my 3.5 year old son's feet. He was getting blisters on his other shoes even though they were still his right size, so we got him a new pair (still same size as before). These fit snuggly enough even if he doesnt strap the velcro as tight as i do. And no blisters since!I also like the removable insole- makes cleaning out all the dirt and sand from the pllayground a lot easier! Its been pretty durbale thus far so i would definitely recommend them. My 18month old wears a 6.5 and has a very wide foot, not a fat or round foot. He's very tall and lean actually, due to all the running he does in these shoes. I had previously tried Stride rite and they were still to narrow for him. He wears them all the time now, and they are good for the cold weather as well. I know he likes them because he doesn't strain to get them off consistently like he did other shoes that were uncomfortable. Also they are easy to put on and get off. Read more
