My little dude is particular. The texture of his shirts, the fit of his trousers, even the color of his foods...all need to be in his Goldilocks-zone. They all need to be just right. It's important that he's comfortable. This challenge presents itself often during his toddler years. Updating gear that fits comfortably seems to be a full time job for his mom and I. Wild Bill plays for keeps, so when we opened these box of shoes you can imagine the stress we were feeling. I stood stiff in a corner while his mom nervously fastened the Velcro straps. First the left...then, the right. She jumped back into my corner as though she'd just lit the fuse to an adorable stick of dynamite.As he stood in the center of history's coldest kitchen, time stopped. I just purchased these and was very excited that they are velcro. They fit great! Color is great and light. However after about a week of wearing them I noticed a very small tear along the top of toe box area. Then a few days later the hole got a little larger and then noticed the other shoe also developed a small hole. I have been very busy and maybe I should have stopped wearing them but I dont have the time and needed them. Well here I am 3wks later and torn up. I'm afraid if I continue to wear they'll fall apart completely. I'm really disappointed. I expected better from New Balance shoes. I wear NOTHING but New Balance and never have they failed me like these. I own gym shoes that have been through a 2yrs weight loss journey with me that have never failed me once. This is bananas!! I love the style of the shoe, super cute, my daughter seems to feel pretty comfortable walking in them. I did expect them to be a bit larger, since I’ve bought other shoes in a size 4 and they weren’t as small or tight. A half size would have been great but i didn’t want to size up an entire size. Bought these in March, it's now November and the soles have peeled off both shoes, front and back. I know kids shoes are made cheaply today, but I'm honestly disappointed - I thought New Balance was a premium brand (they're certainly priced like one) and these wore out like a cheap pair of $20 K-Mart specials.
