Back in 2012, I developed severe plantar fasciitis in both arches that caused me to miss weeks of work. The podiatrist said I could only cure the situation by wearing orthotics. This is a GREAT shoe! I have a super active toddler boy who is very hard on shoes and so far these have held up. I ended up going onto New Balance website to print off a shoe sizing guide that my child actually put his foot on so I could measure, then came back to Amazon to order.It would be nice it this was available on Amazon.I will say the laces I do not like, they are super long and even when tied in a double knot they are easy to come undone. My 9 year old is particular about the fit of his shoes. He has wide, flat feet. I ordered these a size too big because he does not like anything tight on his feet. It has been almost a year now and these shoes are still his favorite for comfort, width, and arch support. Better yet, these look great with some wear on them. These are well made and the sizing is right on. I was sketchy on getting laces but they are perfect and good for double knotting. He had the same pair but with Velcro and they lasted well over a year. He did his best to destroy them but they held up very well. I actually these on him for the first time today and he said they felt really good and he started prancing around the house in his new shoes lol. Read more

I like this because the tip of the shoes are made out of suede which is more durable than his other shoes that are made out of fabric (i.e. adidas) even if the the tip comes up a bit that's "rubber" - the material still somehow gets "roughed up" and fabric starts to fray. Read more

I have had my eye on the NB 574s for sometime and finally took the plunge. Why did I wait so long. They are supremely comfortable and well made. The colour, I would say is a more of a French navy, which is just perfect. With regard to fit, I did look on the New Balance website for the size guide. This gives you exact measurements for all the sizes. I am usually a size 6 to 6 1/2. Going by the NB website size guide I ordered a 6 1/2 and they fit like a glove. On hunting down these trainers, I found that Amazon offered the best price. I now have my eye on a couple of other colours on the 574s and will, no doubt, be ordering them in the not to distant future. Read more

These trainers are really comfortable, lightweight and great quality. I use them for physio at the gym mainly but so comfortable for walking too. Recommend for people like myself with joint or foot pain as they are not heavy and don’t crush or squeeze your foot. By far the most comfortable new trainer I’ve had, didn’t have to break them in.
