This kelp meal is a terrific amendment for adding nutrients and micro nutrients to help feed your soil and ultimately feeding your plants. This organic kelp meal is ascophyllum nodosum, which is among the finest available and truly does work. I use it in a few ways. Directly from the bag I will broadcast and mix the dry ingredients, following the application instructions on the back of the bag, into my garden soil, or my own homemade potting soil. Another way: I will rehydrate a cup of the kelp meal, once hydrated I then add it to a blender and emulsify, pour into a mason jar, cover and place in fridge for later use. When time to use, I add a teaspoon or so to a couple gallons of water, mix thoroughly, then water my plants with the mixture. One other thing I do is add a tablespoon or so of the hydrated/emulsified kelp meal to my aerated compost and vermicompost teas which I make in a five gallon bucket. My vegetables, roses, and other plants respond rather well to the nutrient rich waterings. My experience has also shown me there is no fear in burning my plants as this is organic and not filled with salts or synthetics like other fertilizers. Lastly, the reason I chose Neptunes Harvest is with the research I have done, they appear to be legit and care about their customers. It comes in a nice bag too! Ultimately great product and I will definitely be buying again. I hope this review helps and if anyone has any questions please feel free to email me which can be found on my profile page. Good gardening and happy harvest to you all. Read more

I wanted to reuse the potting soil which I had in other planters for my deck garden. I saw this brand recommended to use on a You Tube video on reusing soil and followed what they said and it seems to be working very well. It mixed in very easily with the soil and has an healthy scent to it. Not offensive, just healthy. As you can see from the photo I have an abundance of growth, veggies and flowers growing in recycled soil. If my review was helpful please let me know. Read more

Neptune's Harvest Kelp Meal - (Use 2Tbsp under plant at time of planting.)Potassium! This Kelp Meal is great for giving Tomato plants (or any other Potassium loving plants!) the Potassium the need. For example: Tomatoes have a huge Potassium requirement. In fact 3% of a single Tomato is Potassium & while it may not sound like a lot until you consider that over 90% of a Tomato is just water!!Kelp Meal also Has 70 micro nutrients & trace elements & even a growth hormone that helps promote healthy & strong roots. So, not only is it going to enhance the quality of fruit, the sweetness of the fruit, it's also going to protect the plant from stressers like heat, wind & lack of water! There are two other items you'll want to use along with Neptune's Harvest kelp meal in the planting hole before transplanting seedlings or any other plants (all 3 help prevent transplant shock)Espoma Rock Phosphate: Use 2Tbspunder plant at time of planting. This is for root development, flowers & fruit. It's going to feed your plant all season, the next season and probably the season after too. It's a very slow releasing version of phosphorus for root development, flowers & fruit. (Do not get this confused with "Triple Phosphate" that one is a synthetic fertilizer that will burn your plants! Plus it is not organic! & it is not slow releasing!) Espoma Rock phosphate will not burn your plants!Neptune's Harvest Crab & Lobster Shell - (Use 2Tbsp under plant at time of planting.)This is a faster slow release form of Phosphate, It's going to feed your plant at the root level and all season long. A great thing about this product is that it has Calcium in it, 17%! Which helps with "Blossom End Rot" (in Tomatoes). It also has a good amount of Nitrogen in it as well. These three are an excellent combination to start any plant off to a great start! And keep feeding it throughout the entire season & next! (can't beat that!)Using all three of these together will feed any plant for 2-3 weeks then after that I fertilize with Neptune's Harvest Tomato & Veg & then once they flower, switch to Neptune's Harvest Rose & Flower(again this product is fantastic for anything - fruits, vege's & even flowers outdoors & indoors!Check out their videos by looking up Neptune's Harvest Tomato & Veg (or any of their products!)Neptune's Harvest Tomato & Veg: (This is for anything: Vegetables, fruit, Flowers, indoor & outdoor plants & also seedlings) use different strengths!Fertilize (2-3 weeks after initial transplanting & then every 1-2 weeks). I’ve used this brand for at least a decade. This was the 1st time I thought to look on amazon for it. I planted a new garden bed this spring. This product will be used to help it flourish. Excellent product, makes plants grow big and strong and in my veggie garden I get so many veggies I wind up giving my neighbors baskets full. Organic too. The only way to grow. Read more

Best fertilizer ever used was Ringer restore then the company was sold and new owners came out with 4 step plan one being bag of kelp meal. Its was costly and since having a home in florida see the problem over fertilizing and run off has on the environment. So took a page from Jerry Bakers Americans master garden book saving me money and helping preventing issue. I simple mix into my Best (ringer) fertilizer iron nite, kelp meal & Epsom salts and feed amount for my area so just enough nutrients needed will be dispenced and end run off waste making my own 4 step plan using 1 main bag feed over growing season. Was told many times liquid kelp gave off an odor which dry doesn't, just made living easier in my area. Read more

I use Neptune Harvest products on a regular basis and always have great results. This kelp meal is high quality and did not disappoint. Only issue is the weight. They advise 4lbs but only 3.675lbs per my scale. About 8% light. Not really an issue for me (Quality over quantity) but its a fairly expensive product so buyer take note. Read more

Neptunes Harvest really has such high quality plant foods and this kelp meal is what I think has made my garden grow so well this year. I only had placed it on half of my garden this year but will be sure that the rest of my garden gets some too so that next year is even better. Read more
