I've used this product successfully for cholesterol control for several years. It always said a.7 monacolins on the bottle, but the produce I ordered in November 2018 and now in January 2019 no longer states this. The one from November had a little sticker on the back stating that and the one now in January does not. As I was reading comments, others have complained about this also. If it doesn't have the 1.7 monacolins it doesn't work. Several people have said that company has reduced it to a level that is ineffective. How can this be investigated to customers know what is really in it? This is false advertising by the company if it is no longer in their product and people's cholesterol levels again are going up. They are compromising out health and their price has also gone up.I want to know if that is the case, because I would like a reimbursement for 2 bottles if that is the case and I am going to ask my doctor to order a cholesterol on me. This is a very dishonest thing by the manufacturer if this is truly the case. It needs to be checked in to and we need to be told. Read more

Consumer Lab tested the product again in 2018. It showed only 1.6 mg lovastatins per pill. That's not enough to do any good. It used to be a good product. Read more

I used this product for several years and it brought my cholesterol down dramatically. I was very happy with the product until a short time ago, I saw people questioning it because their cholesterol increased again. It always said on the bottle standardized to 1/7% monacolins. However the last two times I ordered it, the add still says that but the bottle does not. So I asked my doctor if I could have a lipid panel to see where my cholesterol is. I did have it and my cholesterol had increased from 130 to 202. So I think the have changed their product but are not coming clean about it. I read other people's similar comments. So now I stopped using it. I wrote an email to Amazon about this but did not ever receive a reply. Does anyone have any other information relating to this product and what might have happened? I began using this product in 2015. (I’ve ordered it 11 times on amazon!) My cholesterol went from 220 to 170! In 2016, I noticed a change in the appearance of the tablet - I was so concerned that I wrote the company to ask if I’d gotten an imitation. They said I had a valid batch, they’d just changed the raw material and the efficacy had not changed. (I still have the email!) Well, in 2017 my cholesterol was a surprising 187! This year my cholesterol was 202! I could not understand what was going on! I actually exercise more now. I’m a member of Consumerlab that tests vitamins to see if they actually contain what they say they contain. Well, guess what? This product has reduced it Lovaststins by 80 percent over the last 4 years! Making it now ineffective! I’m so mad I can’t even tell you! They lied to my face! I have the email! Not only that, they messed with my health! I relied on this product! I will NEVER buy anything from this company again. Read more

Here is my experience and nonprofessional opinion:I've had my blood tested before and after and my LDL's dropped between 14-15%2 years later my wife did these same thing with the exact same % result. I've read RYR is capable of about this range.Red Yeast Rice has a natural statin in it, that's why so it's not some mystery. Normally you can't patent a natural product, but the pharmaceutical company that does hold the patent sued to drop any cholesterol lowering claims from these natural products and won in court. Money = Power, right? Total bee ess.If your LDL's is your only problem and can be managed by a <15% drop, these work great, one pill daily at night before you go to sleep (when your liver otherwise would make these things which the statin prevents)Am I a doctor? Nope. So convince yourself of the need and efficacy. And prove it by having personal test results before, during and, uh, after or during again?Statins btw can results in a rare muscular degeneration that is life threatening. 2.5% of folks can get muscle soreness as the main side-effect, and the life-threatening aspect is an even smaller subset within that group. Most won't ever notice any symptoms at all. Neither I nor my wife did. Plus such studies come from much higher doses of statins than what Red Yeast Rice contains. But if you do have muscular pains beyond what is normal or temporary due to injury or overuse, see a doctor and consult your options. On the other hand, studies now are indicating clear benefits to pharmaceutical statins. Lower death (12%) less heart incidents (28%) less brain incidents (19%) not only because statins prevent LDL production and boost HDL's to a slight extent but also because they kind of act like a blood thinner and prevent clotting to some extent. At least that's what I've read and had a Heart Surgeon tell me. Sooo, what appeared to be "I Don't Know" for decades now has some multiple studies that conform in their results. Good You Luck! I was merely hoping to reduce my LDL enough to get my doctor off my back about putting me on a statin drug...instead, in six weeks, my LDL went to a dangerously high 173 to a perfectly normal 84! I made minimal changes to my diet, more good fats, less bad fats, less sugar and carbs, but it wasn't a drastic change. This red yeast rice exceeded my expectations by a long shot! No statins for me!See the picture of lab results...before and after! Read more

Best thing on the market for lowering your cholesterol. I tried the cheap brands and my cholesterol shot back up. I cannot take the prescriptions for high cholesterol because the main side effect f aching muscles and I already have fibromyalgia, so that was out. Over the years I have been taking this...about 8 years, my cholesterol has gone from 270 to 200 and with good eating habits, it has dropped as low as 195. If you take these TAKE THEM AT NIGHT, They do not now why this works better than daytime, but it works! Read more
