With about 20 mg zinc per tablet, the dosage is perfect. The therapeutic range for cold prevention and or attenuation is 20-40 mg per day. The Vitamin C makes the lozenges palatable but research shows Vitamin C does nothing to treat colds( with apologies to Linus Pauling). I have had canker sores off and on all of my life. Nothing ever worked to ease the pain, much less get rid of the sore. Recently found an old container of sootherbs zinc lozenges with lemon and honey. I let one dissolve on the sore. It was immediate pain relief. I continued to do the same thing and in two days, the canker sore was gone! You did not have have the lemon and honey ones, but I tried rasberry and to my delight, it worked too.
