I've been struggling with tinea versicolor for close to a year now and nothing seemed to work until I decided to give this a try! It smells like lavender and just the tiniest hint of sulfur (ladies, it smells similar to getting a perm)When using this product, I lather up the soap bar with water, apply it over the spots and just let it soak into my skin without rinsing. My tinea versicolor is unusual and severe. I was treated by the dermatologist with fluconozole antifungal pills followed by daily use of ketaconozole body wash/shampoo.. for a day or two it looked like the fungus was finally dying off only to come back worse than before. After a week the fungus was finally dying off, the damage to the pigment is still there but it’s no longer spreading and my face is getting smooth again. Now I use it everyday, multiple times a day and I mix it with tea-tree oil. The combination of this soap and tea-tree oil while working out is lethal to the fungus. For some of us this fungus is aggressive, you have to use a concentrated and continuous effort to get rid of it. Mine got so bad I didn’t feel like leaving the house it was red, bumpy, painful and spreading rapidly, now, thanks to this soap I can go outside again and I’m not in pain. I received this on july 15, writing a reveiw on august 4, 2018.For starters, this product works; however, the instructions is what makes this product appear ineffective.The instruction is to shower with this soap bar twice a day (which i did for 17 days) and it wasnt good enough. To elaborate, it appeared to have a major result the first 2 days but diminished like the fungus became immune!We are dealing with a fungus that grows from our sweat so why would we wash this product off our body when the solution is keep it on the skin long enough to kill the fungus? So i decided to keep the soap on my body and it made a HUGE difference!Id shower like normal, dry up, then before i put my clothes on i’d RUB in this soap bar to the areas in need with a tiny bit of water, creating a lotion like soap layer. I’ll let this dry or sometimes ill put my clothes on right after i applied. You will smell like sulfur but thats the stuff that kills! I did this for 3 days and my tinea versicolor is nearly gone!!Remember, this product like all products only kill the surface of the fungus. Hence why you have to wash off the dead surface to get to the fungus underneath them. The longer you keep the sulfur on your skin the more dead fungi. Wash off the dead fungi (is visible if you use a wet papertowel!!!) and dry rub that bar of soap again with a bit of water.Say good bye to that fungus! 3 days my way vs 17 days their way, i had immediate results doing it my way!Use it like a lotion and do it twice a day! So before I give my long review on this product, I just want to say this stuff works WONDERS HONEY!!! Lol!! Now that we got that out the way, let me tell you my story on this product : So when I first noticed the tinea versa color, I didn’t take it serious because at first it started out as bumps. Then it turned into some kind of rash. Then it started to spread. Then bout time I wanted to go to the dermatologist to check it out, I was going out of town. Anyway, when I came back from out of town, I booked an appointment with my dermatologist immediately. After seeing my dermatologist, she diagnosed me correctly but what she prescribed me was weak and SHIT!! Most of these dermatologist always want to tell you that selsun blue is the number one way to go for Tinea versa color. But the Selsun blue along with this cream that she prescribed me with didn’t do anything. If fact, the Tinea versa color was getting worse. The tinea versa color started on my chest but then spread to my neck, my left ear, under my chin, and the top of my back shoulders. I use the prescription for that one week and decided it was time to do things my way. So I came across this product and seen a lot of great reviews on it and decided to try it. I was told by the doctor to let the Selsun blue sit on my body for five minutes in the shower then rinse off. I did exactly what she said to do but instead, I use this bar soap to sit on my body for five minutes while in the shower. I would take my phone into the bathroom with me just so I can set my timer to make sure it’s sits on my affected areas for five minutes. Anyway, I will rinse off and dry up normally. Within 2 1/2 to 3 weeks, my Tanea versa color is damn near GONE!! And it’s crazy because my dermatologist told me my original skin color wouldn’t return back until 3 - 6 months or a year later. This probably would’ve worked quicker for me have I would’ve showered twice a day and left it on my body for five minutes twice a day but I was lazy and I only took one shower a day which is what I normally do. I’m so happy that me being stubborn and had paid off for whites and I decided to use this product and this work way better than that sells them blue bullshit. Of course my confidence was really low and my insecurity was really high while experiencing this. I don’t know if me giving birth to my son had something to do with this happening to me but I’m just glad that it’s starting to finally go away. My advice to you i’m so happy that me being stubborn had paid off for once and this work WAY BETTER than that selsun blue bullshit. I wish i took before and after photos. I have a few spots left so i just might. But this stuff 100% works. Ppl complain about the smell on reviews but i honestly don’t understand why. It doesn’t smell that bad AT ALL. I didn’t follow the instructions for use, however. And instead tried what another reviewer did: wet the bar and get a portion of the wet soap and make a paste. Apply directly on your spots and let it sit. I typically let it sit for 5-10 mins. Then rinse off. I literally did this TWICE and my spots literally disappeared. And i had spots BAD...on my collarbone, shoulders, chest and my neck. Dark spots that were RAISED even...they were “gone” after two applications using the aforementioned method. I say “gone” because while the thickness and darkness of the spots were gone and they spots were not noticeable to anyone else, i could still see the leftover lightness where the spots where. That’s why they tell you to get direct sunlight on the areas to get color back into the skin and even out the skin tone.Either way, this product works, doesn’t smell like eggs, and i will always and forever be a customer as long as i continue to have times versilcolor. I’m on day 9 and my tinea versicolor is almost completely gone! I am astounded and so happy I found this product! I’ve struggled with this issue for a long time and nothing seemed to work (lemon juice, selsun blue, etc). I was about ready to book an appointment with a skin doctor.
