I see a lot of complaints in the reviews about these being thin, but I've always found them pretty much as dense as you could want. Not sure if they are coming from different sources or people aren't washing them (which tightens them up considerably), regardless, these wash and work great for me. Even taking a screaming hot cast iron skillet or the like out of the oven is no issue with them. They've also held up well to lots of use, lots of spills, and regular washing in hot water.7/2020 Added a picture. Well over a year of daily use and regular washing and these still look almost new. I've been searching for what feels like forever to find terry hot pads. My old ones wore out after years of service. I tried quilted ones. I tried ones that were like mitts with silicone on one side. They didn't work for me. And then...these appeared on Amazon. Just what I wanted. I can pick up a cast iron skillet out of the oven with them, or a baking sheet. They handle the heat well. One caveat - don't use them if your hands are especially wet or the mitt gets wet - heat will easily transfer if hands or mitts are wet. They launder well in warm water and in dryer on medium. I have found good old fashioned, NON STIFF, pot holders. My old pot holders are worn, stained, and bedraggled. Have been looking for a pot holder that one can actually wrap around the handle of a pot for years now. Seems all pot holders in the stores out there are made of some new material that is so stiff, one cannot pick up a hot plate or pot with them. I've been sufficing with folded over dishtowels. The new fangled STIFF pot holders, are best used for hot pads to set things on the table. They fail miserably for grasping handles. These pot holders are a teeny bit thin, but thick enough to grab a hot plate or pot momentarily with no folding, and foldable enough that one can double them over and still have plenty to grab the hot handle with if you need to hold the hot thing for longer than momentarily. Also does anyone else take note that pot holders make of synthetic materials MELT when exposed to high heat? The cotton never does that. Thanks Amazon for a really functional pot holder. I bought these for our rental cottages. People are very tough on potholders, and I also wanted good heat resistance for everyone's safety. Compared to my other potholders, a hodge podge of everything from handmade to quilted, pocketed, and even silicone, these are the best. They're a very good size, can handle a lot of heat, and clean up well. Next time I'll get a darker color, because in a rental the spills usually sit for a while before I have a chance to launder them. They hold up perfectly to machine washing. I'm a fan. These pot holders are exactly what I've been looking for. They are a generous size (approximately 7-1/2" X 8" after machine washed and dried), thick enough to protect my hands, but not too thick/stiff to use easily. I really like the colors (I purchased the gray and blue). Also, the hanging loop is big enough to go over a hook. I've only had them a couple of weeks, washed and dried them twice and they've come out of the dryer looking great, holding their shape. Very happy with this purchase and certainly recommend them. love the terry cloth pot holders. they are a good size for folding around/ gripping dishes , large enough to cover your grasp, but not so big that it makes them difficult to fold. the same with the thickness, they're thick enough to protect your hands and counters from the heat, but it doesnt interfere with your ability to grip with them. they are easily folded/ very flexible being terry cloth on both sides, so none of that ugly one shiny sided fabric that looks like tacky and cheap mimics of these. i ordered the green. they've only been washed once, but so far so good. expected amount of lint in the dryer tray considering they're terry cloth. stitching seems good. they appear to be the high quality pot holders i was looking for, but i will update this review when they've been tested more. oh... they shrank about 1/4 of an inch in the dryer so far. they were large enough that they had some room to shrink without interfering in expected tasks. These pot holders are really good. I’ve boughten them twice now. The second ones I bought which are these seem a bit thinner. They have and are a little big for me but the best I’ve found that are just a plain old cotton hot pad which is something I want and love beings I cook with cast iron. Anything that has blended fabric such as polyester or have silicon on the will melt to my pans. So these fit my bill. They are cheap enough to have several sets also. Read more

I like this product because it wraps around pot handles easily. Most pot holders have a layer of heat resistant material. I find that the additional layer makes them too thick to wrap easily. These holders get the job done and are still heat resistant. Read more
