I think the size of the bottle is generous. The purple pigment is strong and you don't need a lot. I always see a difference when I use this which is 1 - 2 times a week. It doesn't dry out my hair, but I do use a great conditioner after my shampoo also ( pureology hydra whip) I also bought the Tone Correcting Mask by Perlabage but I think using both is redundant! I get great results with the shampoo only and the pigment seems more intense, so go with the shampoo if you are buying one. Also the smell is my favorite hair product smell. This product was recommended to me by a salon colorist. The way you get this (and other purple shampoos to work properly) is to first wet hair, take sliced lemons & squeeze juice into hair (brassy areas). This prepares the hair to open up to receive & "take" the shampoo properly. Read the directions & leave it in for the amount of time indicated. If you have lots of brass you may leave it in a bit longer on those areas but be careful if you're platinum blonde & only have brassy roots. Use ot where you NEED it. If you don't have a lot of brass or yellow you may not need as long. Also be aware that regular use of the product will create the best results. So even if you don't see ALL of your brass go away the first time that doesn't mean the product doesn't work. My colorist (who is my relative & wasn't selling this item) recommended using this about twice a week. I was able to see results after the first use of this product using the lemon juice technique. I DO follow up with this same brand's mask (which is recommended & is also purple). My hair is NOT left with a purple tint of any kind. It has not stained towels or anything in my bathroom. My hair doesn't feel damaged or brittle or dried out. It feels nice & soft. No yucky smell either. Smells nice.I will definitely continue to use this product! It is a bit pricey but I feel like it's absolutely worth it! I have learned in matters of the hair... you get what you pay for. I have tried tons of purple shampoos & this has been hands down THE BEST!For reference: I have naturally light brown/dirty blonde hair. I keep it a medium or light ash blonde (I switch it up). In between colorings I do a few highlights AT HOME to stretch out how often I completely bleach/color. I feel like it's better on my hair that way. I am Scottish/Irish descent so I naturally pull "golden" when I lighten my hair. I have red heads in my family. So when I use even light ash colors (I always use cool colors not warm) I still get a brassy or yellow tones. It will especially show a little while after coloring/bleaching.I believe this is a fantastic maintenance shampoo & really fixes it! I actually washed my hair over the side of my tub & looked in my bathroom mirror to apply the shampoo the first time to BE SURE I was hitting the brassy spots really good. I could literally see those tones change in a few minutes while looking in the mirror. I did not go over the amount of time in the directions on the bottle. This stuff is amazing and worth every penny!! The roots of my hair were much yellower than the shaft of my hair so I applied to my roots and left for 15 minutes. I have tried shimmer lights and there is no comparison! Shimmer light made my hair more lavender, as you can see in the first picture, while this stuff neutralized all the yellow and got me to the white blonde I was going for!! Read more

I am always changing my hair color, but for the most part it is pretty dark. About 6 months ago I decided to do a medium brown to blonde balayage/ombre at my salon with the colorist I have used for years. I wanted my hair to be ashy and more cool tones but I knew it would turn brassy from lifting it. My colorist did wonders on my hair but it was still more golden and brassy than I had wanted. I did a lot of research on a silver/purple shampoo to use and decided to order this one. It was delivered today and I just used it for the first time. I'm not big on writing lengthy reviews but it was hard for me to find a product review coming from those with darker hair and not bleach blonde. I showered and left the shampoo on my hair for about 3-5 minutes. In one shampoo/and conditioner treatment I had seen a noticeable change in the tone of my hair. Previously, I had used Goldwell Anti-Brassiness Purple Shampoo and it did a good job of maintaining my current color but I did not see any change to the tone really. I was shocked when this made a difference immediately. My hair went from golden copper/yellow tones to a pretty ashy oatmeal color. The shampoo and conditioning treatment are both very pigmented. The shampoo is basically a black gel color and the treatment is more of a very deep blue violet cream. If you're looking to make a difference and keep your hair toned, this is a great product! Being that I have medium brown to dark blonde hair, I suggest those with lighter blonde hair only leave it on for a typical shampoo or a minute or two otherwise you might start to see gray tones. Now that I know the reviews for this brand were absolutely true, I am going to look into purchasing their purple shampoo as well which might give off less gray-toned results. Read more

Thank you for the amazing suggestion!!Recap instructions:1: applied a generous amount on clean dry hair getting my hands a little wet with water as I worked it in.2: once my hair was fully saturated I placed it all on the top of my head without a hair tie.3: used a microwaveable heat cap I bought on Amazon.4: let it set for about 1.5 hours with the cap on the whole time.5: rinsed, with warm water, deep conditioned (deep conditioning is important!!)6: used a blow dryer on medium heat, flat ironed, and applied a small amount of Moroccan oil!7: ENJOY!! I didn't think it was that great when I left it on for 5-10mins. Next time I left it on for 15 mins each one at it did was I was hoping for ! Leave on for longer the more yellow your hair has in it. But wouldn't leave on for more than 20 mins or your hair will probably go purple on the lighter white parts. It's a very good product but not sure it's that great of value for the price. My hair was a natural light Ash blonde 50 years ago. But after I had my first child it turned a "dirty blonde" and I started to colour my hair. As my roots were still blonde, and now grey, I could have been able to get away with colouring every 6-8 weeks....except for the colour fading and turning yellow. So, over the past 50 years, I've tried everything, from natural home "brews" to pricey shampoos, conditions and treatments. Honestly, there was very little improvement. So, last week, I did a thorough online search of YouTube and websites that aren't selling products. After 3 days of research, I settled on this shampoo.It's about 6 weeks since my last colour. My hair colour had really faded and was very yellow. I swim in a chlorinated pool and our two water is very hard and contains fluoride.....plus I never wear a hat outside. I was looking to do another colour today, as my hair colour was dreadful. But the Naissant shampoo arrived yesterday, so I thought I'd give it a try first.I was going to apply it to my dry hair as so many YouTubers suggested, but it's very highly pigmented so I decided to do it in the shower and let it sit for about 5 minutes before rinsing out. I thought I might need to repeat to get a better result, but it came out just beautiful.I did follow the shampoo, on towel-dried hair, with a purple conditioner that I had recently purchased and let it sit for about 10min. With a shower cap. Then rinsed and blow dry.The result is much better than I expected. In the front and top, my hair is now a cool, light blonde. The back still retains a little of the yellow. Next time I will repeat shampooing the back twice.Some things to note: as this is highly pigmented and runny, don't open the tube over a porous surface as it will stain; be careful pouring it into your palm, it's very runny so don't squeeze the bottle; there is no beautiful smell, so you may want to use a small spritz of perfume; I read that any of these shampoos are drying due to the pigmentation, so always use a good conditioner. I'll definitely order the Naissant condition when I run out of my current one.At this was my first shampoo, I cannot tell you how often I will need to use it. I will definitely use it after every swim, but in the winter I only wash my hair 2x a week, and may not need to use it that often if it is drying.Bottom line, I can't rave enough about how it helped my hair, but every person's hair is different. So if you're battling fading and yellowing blonde dyed hair, it's definitely worth a try. Maybe, you have a friend you can share it with and cut the cost. Used the shampoo and conditioner and absolutely loved it. Most of the purple shampoos makes my hair so dry this it feels like straw. Left both shampoo & conditioner on for 10 min. Loved the result. No purple tones at all just a nice platinum blonde colour. Too bad it washes out so quickly. I learned a trick from YouTube. Apply the shampoo to dry hair. I let it sit on my head for 10 minutes then lathered and rinsed it out. It might not work for everyone but it did for me. I found that when I had wet hair and applied the shampoo the result was less intense. The downside to this though is that you use a lot more shampoo unfortunately. I do this about every 2 weeks because I don't want purple hair. Read more
