This was absolutely needed to keep our 3 year old out of the fridge. These worked really well for us for a few cabinets we had that needed child proofed. We also have found they work wonderfully on our lazy susan in the kitchen. There are clips for those that you can buy, but then you can only turn it one way. With these we just attached it to one side and we can use it either way. There is a little bit of give (maybe a cm), but its not enough for baby to get their fingers pinched at all. I haven't had to take one off so I can't attest to that being easy or hard, but I know that we've had them up almost a year and they are still working great. These aren't that strong. My toddler tore them off with ease. I used a new guard higher up the closet so she could not reach, but when she tried to pry open the closet, these things popped out again. Maybe they went easy on the adhesive because they didn't want it to damage the closet if the user decides to remove them at a later time, but really, it's a cheap closet and I just want the dang things to do what they were intended to... primarily keeping my tiny princess from opening her closets at two in the morning so she can try on every single dress in it. Absolutely love these. These are the only ones i use. And i have them everywhere. Dresser drawers, my fridge, cabinets etc. Even had used on closet doors at my old apt. They definitely do hold up. I think its close to a year on my 2 yr olds dresser drawers and none have fell off or came loose. Read more

I am really happy with these. I spent a lot of time installing the baby cabinet guards that you screw into the door and base and they catch on a latch. My toddlers figured those out quickly. Just be sure you have space for them. I have older awkward cabinets that have a design on them and had to take the actual knobs off of some to use these. Photo shows I had to remove knobs.
