I saw some people say it doesn’t suction, but it does actually really well. If you check the instructions, it says it works best with a little water on the suction part and you also have to put it on a clean surface. I am glad I got these for my 2 year old, he’s much more likely to finish his portion when it’s separated into easy compartments vs just slopped onto a tray. It also helps me with portions sizes and remembering to add variety to each meal. We just gave these to my son at Easter. Since we unboxed them, they have not suctioned once. I can push down with all my strength and within a few moments, they pop right back up. My 18 month old son even tries to push it down. I have tried it on multiple surfaces in our home. This was a big waste of money, we love all of our other munchkin products. Only giving 2 stars cus they are cute and its a good idea. But these ones arent great at all. They dont stay suctioned for more then a few mins. You have to have a completely clean and dry surface for it to stay put longer then a min before having to push it back down. We have used them 2 days now and if you dont constantly push it back to begin suctioned it just makes a big mess anyway or if the food spills you cant put it back in the same spot. It doesnt work well at all for our highchair about every 30 secs you have to reset it. So far the kitchen table is the only thing that it will stick to for 5 min straight but im sure that time would be less if a kid was pulling on it. And they are smaller then i thought. unfortunately that is not the case. I cannot get these things to stick to any surface for more than 30 seconds. I can't tell you how many 6 course meals have ended up on the floor because my bundle of joy did not want to eat. I don't know if she has superhuman hulk strength or if I am using them incorrectly. I learned how to use stickers when I was very young so this seems self explanatory. Maybe it's her, maybe it's me, maybe its maybelline but one this is for certain. The media could not be loaded.  This suction on this plate set has saved many meals from being tossed on the floor!! Pulling from the top lip of the plate is nearly impossible to break the suction from the surface. You would need to either use the tab on the suction flap or use your fingernails to lift it. Even after tugging at the plate I was unable to get it to budge. It holds well on everything I’ve put it on… granite countertops, smooth wooden tabletop, textured plastic tabletop, etc…The portion size is just right for my 2yr old. I also love how the plate is divided so food can’t touch. The suction sucks. Don’t get these. They suction at first, but slowly loosens. So everything is great, baby is eating then next thing you know the plate is upside down or on the floor with all the food splattered. I bought a different brand at Walmart, but I didn’t want to go back in the store. I needed another plate ASAP, but that same plate was going to take a LONG time getting here. These plates are good, easy to wash, and are perfect sizes. I use them often, but my twins still seem to be able to pull them off of their high chair after a few minutes of use. They're determined, strong babies, but I wish the suction was just a big stronger so they may not be able to rip them off of their trays! Read more

Have a few of these plates and bowls for weaning. They work well. Yes, occasionally (3/4 times of using over the past 3 months) the suction comes loose but generally works really well. Nice size and easy to clean. Not as ‘pretty’ and ‘insta worthy’ as bamboo ones but they work well and my daughter likes them. Read more
