Bought this for the top of a dresser. I wanted something secure as we were not mounting additional hardware to the dresser. After looking at the earlier reviews I was skeptical, but being able to mount this on the back of the dresser and the non slip pads (not to mention the safety belt) were safety measures I needed. I'm so glad I went with this! The pad was ordered and arrived 3 months prior to giving birth. It had a extremely light "new" smell. I thought it would have been much worse via the negative reviews. Within a few days there was no odor at all, even when I pressed my face to it.I was easily able to measure and screw in the hardware to the back of the dresser. (Literally two screws). Used a manual screwdriver with no help from hubby.Bought the pad covers at Walmart. As long as you get one with holes for the straps and is made to fit the inclining sides you'll be fine. Our bouncing baby boy kicks, attempts to roll around, plays and remains secure on the table. We are always within arms reach, but feel confident that neither the pad nor baby will leave the top of the dresser. With the non slip pads it wont even scoot around. Best pad for price and safety. Smells so strongly of chemicals the entire nursery smells of it now. Sitting outside in the sun for a few days to try and get rid of that. Disappointing. Read more
This changing pad is incredibly light, but doesn't compromise for durability or comfortability! The pad is just soft enough to provide a comfortable place to change your baby, and the waterproof covering is incredibly easy to clean and sanitize. You can use a cover, but we just lay an old receiving blanket down so that it is easy to put in the wash if it gets soiled while changing. The rubber feet on the bottom are large and provide a little friction so that the pad doesn't move, however, I wish that the rubber was a bit softer to provide an even better grip on surfaces. It does include a strap for safety, however, we never use this as it would be cumbersome and time consuming to do so if we used it during every single change- we never leave her side anyways. You can easily grab the changing pad to move it to another room if needed, as it is so light. Highly recommend this changing pad, especially considering the price point! Read more
I was very excited for the product when I ordered it, and I was willing about $10 extra just because this changing pad had a non-slip bottom part which I felt it was important given I was going to put it up the top of a dresser. I was very happy with the product until I opened the bag. The changing pad has the most disgusting stinky plastic smell. I thought it would go away in a few hours but no... it was so bad I had to remove it from inside of the house because nobody could handle the smell. Thankfully we have 6 more weeks before baby arrives and I am sure the smell will go away by then but this is something that needs to be changed especially that it was meant for babies who are extra sensitive to smell and chemicals. I had purchased this changing pad to replace one that I have had for almost 2 years and am very disappointed in the quality. Off-gassing from the product was very severe (this is for babies / children so that's problematic) and continued for almost a full week after un-packaging. The grippers on the bottom (the main reason I switched to this version to replace the other one I had, which had no grippers) are no better than the changing pad I had before with no grippers. Finally (and this is the biggest problem in my opinion), after the second week of having the changing pad, it is stained....and it won't clean off (which I did right away after noticing the leak through on the cover). Awful; our other pad wiped right up after any mishaps with leakage through the pad cover and only had to be replaced after almost 2 years of use because we thought it was "time" given the hard use we put that former pad through and a new baby on the way. Not satisfied at all with the quality or the features of this one. Read more
I'm on baby #2 and wanted to find a new changing pad. We have tried a few but they wore out within a few months and it was disappointing this changing pad has firm edges so baby can't roll off easily. (Never leave your baby up there unassisted) and the best part about the changing pad it has grips underneath that keep it from sliding. The other changing pads we used previously did not have those and we would have to use the non slip material that is used under rugs. Were impressed with the quality and length of the changing pad. (We don't use a changing pad cover because it covers the grips, I suggest you use a changing pad liner that sits on the top, that's what we use ) Read more
The biggest deciding factor for me in selecting this changing pad is that the cover is solid, making it very easy to clean and sanitize (not sure why so many other brands have designs in which poop/pee can more easily be trapped). Read more
I converted an old dresser and this pad fits it perfect the non slip pads on the bottom held it in place very well and I love that there are two straps to attach to the back of the dresser. It's doesn't move! Read more
My wife and I have been using this for 18 months now and its still a very valuable and important part of our daily lives. It gets used probably 8 times a day, for very short periods but used nonetheless. I am giving this item 5 stars as it functions well as a change pad and that's what I bought it for, but its marketable features are more gimmicky to me which I will discuss below. The "Xtra-Grip" feet on the bottom don't do much. Without any weight on the pad (no baby) you can easily push this mat with your pinky finger while its on a table. So I wouldn't exactly say they provide grip. When we lay our son down, it is fairly hard to push but I'm sure that's more to do with the weight of our son weighing the mat down. The Safety strap is great in theory, we used it twice and quickly gave up. Our son just laid there until he learned how to flip over. Once he was able to do that, he was able to flip with the strap applied unless pulled very tight which causes the sides to curl up. When he rolls with the strap applied, he was able to roll the whole mat with him. It also gets in the way of flipping up his onesie and made changing that much more difficult. I ended up cutting them off. I know most people who want this feature have an idea of this perfect nursery in their head where they can mount this on a change table, but its not really practical. Much easier and safer to lay this on a bed or even better, the floor. Way too stressful worrying about if you little one will flip, roll, sit-up and fight or try to get off while trying to pull wipes from a bag and apply cream to worry about falling. Looks great in magazines, doesn't work in the real world. The Easy Wipe surface lives up to its name. Its non-porous and wipes clean very easily with a baby wipe. Ours is as clean as the day we bought it. You could use this without a cover if you wanted to as well.Size wise, our son is now 18 months old and 36" tall so his feet now hang off the end. Not sure how much longer we will get use out of this, may have to switch to a pillow under the head on the floor.Pros:- Soft and comfortable- Good size- Super easy to cleanCons:- Feet grips don't do much- Safety strap value is questionable Read more
OverviewI used this on top of a change table for my newborn...It was large enough that she did outgrow it. It lasted right up until she went to pull ups. It has sufficient contour so keep the little ones from rolling off...and the pads on the bottom prevent it from sliding around on hard surfaces (I had it on an oak change table)Easy to clean, and lots of options for soft cover to put over it. Pros-good value-lasted for the few years I needed it-easy clean surface-anti slip pads on the bottom-keeps the little ones from rolling aroundCons-noneRecommendation – Would buy it again and would highly recommend<---Click below if you found this review helpful---> Read more
Fits on the dresser perfectly, and used standard sized change pad covers Read more
I was hoping to be able to use this changing pad without a cover to a) save money and b) save on doing laundry all the time (as several commenters had said it's easier just to wipe it off). However, was disappointed to find that if you properly attach the straps to the back of your change table/dresser as directed, it leaves a highly visible orange warning label (non-removable) sticking out on the opposite side of the change pad and if I want to preserve the aesthetics of my nursery I will now have to also purchase a cover to hide this. Why wouldn't they put the orange warning label on the back side of the product where the dresser attachment straps are located??? We put this on our son’s long and low dresser and changed him there. We did not have a “change” table. I thought the straps were to attach the pad to a change table, but they are actually to buckle your child in while changing them, which once they start to move (when you would definitely want to be using the straps) the pad sides are so low and the pad is so light that even on a change table with rails, I could only imagine the baby rolling off the table with the pad attached if they wanted to roll. So we only used this pad for a few months because of this. As soon as our son could move at all we were worried and just changed him on the elevated crib mattress. We s add least felt, even when he wasn’t moving a lot that the potential to fall was there so we wouldn’t even go more than the one step to the diaper pail, and even that made me a little nervous. I would not buy this again. I would just use the crib. It was easy to clean and very plush, though. Read more
