I just received the product in the mail and opened to test it on my hand. As soon as I saw how liquidy and bubbly it was in the bottle, I knew something was wrong. I've been using the Intensive essence for a while now and it's a very thick, serum like consistency. This one is basically just water. There's no way this is the way the product was intended to be, and now I can't return it. I'm out that $18+ because I didn't want to spend $50 at Target. I'm extremely disappointed. Just splurge on the real thing-A good rule when shopping online is if it seems to good to be true, it probably is. Read more

I incorporate Korean skincare in my routine and have seen a marked improvement in smoothness and clarity overall. The mirror does NOT lie.Neither does my bank balance. What started off as a trial balloon is now a keeper for me. I don't however, subscribe to the full-on mania and near-hysteria about Korean and Asian skincare in general. There's no way I have (or want to MAKE), the time for all the steps involved in a proper Korean skincare routine. Not because I don't want to but because travelling with so many products is not something I care to do. My toiletry and cosmetic kit-and-caboodle, even when streamlined for travel, weighs a bloody ton.I cherry-pick my skincare and choose what works for me across the board from Olay's Luminous Cream (quite wonderful, incidentally), to ROCs OTC Retinol creme in the bronzy-gold tube to whatever I tweak according to the season and my skin's needs. Now Missha's Time Revolution The First Essence is supposed to be verrrry similar to, and in fact the country cousin of SK 11's famous essence; the one with Cate Blanchett's ethereal skin acting as a beacon for prospective SK 11 customers. I bought a bottle from an online Korean cosmetics mall, liked how my skin reacted to it so this is my second bottle.Right off, I found this calming. I mistakenly took this for a Toner and applied it post double-cleansing to prep. my skin before absorbing a basic Serum, (an occasional OTC Retinol cream), Moisturiser and a topping of Differin Gel. I apply some on a cotton pad and gently rub it over face and neck.It makes a very good toner, in fact. There's no stinging or burning on application. NO after-burn, either. After reading the package, I sometimes apply it the way it's recommended, to wit:-- Applied with fingers directly the the skin and patted in.This works beautifully as well. It absorbs in about 30 seconds and your ready for what's next. There's what feels like a very slight stickiness on first applying this, but it dissipates in seconds. My skin's been doing well with this. I can't honestly say its made my skin any clearer than the Cosrx brightening serum but it preps my skin so well. It's akin to prepping the canvas before getting down to serious painting. If the prepping's not done right, everything that follows will reflect it.The heavy bottle is a PITA for travelling but you can pop open the plastic stopper and CAREFULLY (very carefully) DECANT the liquid into a travel-ready container. You'll notice I haven't regurgitated what it says on the package about 'barley' and what's in this stuff. Really, does it matter? I mean, I read what's on the package but I don't take it as Holy Writ. Korean/Asian skincare is EXACTLY like Western skincare in the sense that it's the Same 'Ole Blah blah blah..., quasi-scientific gobbledygook we're expected to swallow like baby birds.I'm indifferent as to what hemisphere these fatuous blurbs originate from. I just want the product to do even halfway what it alleges to do.I feel rather like Janet (What Have You Done For Me Lately?) Jackson when using the any product du jour. This I'll be using for a long time. It's innocuous, removes any residual gunk from skin post-cleansing VERY well and makes a good introduction to the world of Essences, Korea style. I was trying to reach for a word to accurately describe how my skin felt after using this Missha product and I've found it ~ it feels BALANCED. And soothed.Thank-you for taking the time to read this review. I hope it's been of help. Read more

I just got into Korean Beauty (Have been 'studying' it online for several months before making my own tentative selections) ...I LOVE this essence! Honestly it's the first "essence" I have ever used and it has only been in my possession for a week or two, but it is so effective! I put a few drops into my hands and pat it gently over my face after cleansing/toning, and it felt instantly softer and bouncier...my skin looks brighter, too. One of my favorite parts of my current routine. It feels so pleasant! My cheeks tend to be dry and thirsty all the time, but my T-zone tends to be overly shiny... I'm hoping that this will help slow oil production with the help of the extra hydration.I am KEEPING this in my routine as long as it is available!P.S. As it contains Niacinamide, don't use alongside Retinols, Vitamin C or an AHA/BHAs. I use it in the morning, and alternate it with a different toner that won't compete with or cause irritation alongside the other active ingredient products. Read more

I am a guy with oily/combo skin, and I would describe my skin as sensitive at times. I went through my I'm From Mugwort Essence about a month ago, and I wanted to add another essence. Based on several other reviews, I decided to try the Missha this time instead of I'm From, and I am SUPER happy to report that it exceeds my expectations. This product works so well on redness, irritation, sensitivity, and active breakouts. For example, last night I overexfoliated and my skin turned red and burned. I did my normal routine and added this essence in, and to my amazement this morning, I have no redness and my irritation is completely gone! This is incredible! Some more things about this essence is that it is pretty thin (thinner than the I'm From) and has a stronger fragrance from the fermented mugwort. It absorbs very quickly and is very easy to layer. Also, it has a soothing and slightly cooling feeling on the skin which to me was a lot more noticeable than the I'm From. Also, the packaging is gorgeous so it will look impressive on your shelf :)Overall, I highly rave about this product! This has blown my mind and I will have to keep this in my routine since I enjoy it so much. Definitely worth the price. If you're like me with occasional irritation/breakouts/redness, this is a must have! Read more

I have combination skin. It's not particularly sensitive. I read up on the product quite a bit. However, before I made my purchase, I discovered the formulation had been changed. Lots of the soothing and calming ingredients were gone. I saw lots of reviews with people saying it didn't work the same. It was a concern for me but, as I said, I don't have sensitive skin. Also, there were lots of reviewers that said it worked great. I decided to give it a try. I did a patch test on my chin first. No issues after 24 hours so I proceeded to use it on my entire face. Didn't see any change but also no problems. Until the third day. That morning I woke to face full of little bumps. Looked more like goosebumps than pimples. Whatever they were, I stopped using the product immediately. Took about a week or so for my skin to clear up. Now, I'm stuck with this giant bottle and I don't know what to do with it. Not sure if it can be returned. Read more

。 Read more

This came on time as has totally met my expectations!I am very pleased with the product noticing a difference in how my skin felt on first application.Being mother to a 6 month old, I was sceptical about anything making me look better but this honest has perked up my skin. I look a lot less tired! The product is fabulous - the price is quite steep in my opinion, however now that I see the effects I'm still glad I purchased it. I will be looking out for this on sale everywhere as I expect it to be a staple part of my minimal mummy skin care routine. As you only need a small amount, the bottle should last ages. Read more

Paid £22.90. Can’t comment if the authenticity and it does not bother me as long as the formula works no worries. This one is a serum/toner skin smoothing liquid that you apply after cleansing. It’s acid so be careful with your eyes. No scent. I am not aware of any miracle or a long term effect but logically this one makes sense and I have been using similar formulas for years, they are essential in my view. Ok product. Read more

This product is a little on the expensive side - I would never pay full price for it.But saying that it does leave the skin feeling really soft and hydrated, a little goes a long way.Comes in a beautiful glass bottle which I was not expecting. Helps to even out my complexion. I use this when I'm feeling like I need a little extra pampering. Read more

I have been using this for years but there was a time when I felt that it's not doing anything for my face anymore so I purchased another brand of FTE (first treatment essence) but I had a bad reaction to the new one (also bought it here and left a review). Went on without using FTE and I saw the difference of not using it. I had horrible dry patches on my face and by the end of the day I was too oily because my skin was compensating for the dryness. I couldn't put any makeup and no moisturiser can make it better. I purchased this again and my face is all better now even during winter. In the morning, I use this after washing my face and I put on a sunscreen then make up. So simple to use and doesn't require me to put heavy moisturiser in the cold weather to fight off dryness. I made this review when I finished the entire bottle. Read more
