So my ex girlfriend has been calling me ugly and fat for years. The cheap shower mirror she bought me busted so I went to amazon and bought this one. I installed this bad boy into my shower and couldn’t believe the Angel staring back at me. My Caribbean blue eyes were amazed at what they were seeing. I called my dump truck girlfriend and told her 10’s don’t date 3’s unless you bring two friends. She got mad and I took my shower mirror and moved to NYC and became a model. I also started dating Victoria Secret model(s) on the regular. I owe it all to the shower mirror! Read more
I waited two months to review this mirror and I’m glad I did. The longer I own it the more I appreciate it. When I first got it, I have to admit, I couldn’t figure out how to mount it or where the water reservoir was. Yes, I know, I’m not the sharpest tool in the shed. But once mounted and reservoir figured out it worked fine. It’s stayed adhered to my shower tiles no problem. My shower head sticks out more than this mirror so the mirror doesn’t get in the way. It’s lightweight = plastic so it won’t shatter, but the downside is the optical quality isn’t great. And although the fog issue has been addressed, small droplets of water form on it, obscuring the view.Although far from perfect I’ve grown used to it and enjoy my personal time in the shower shaving. Anything that makes shaving less tedious is a good thing.EDITA few days ago the mirror separated from the wall and fell into the tub (In the middle of the night of course). I checked the back and it still seemed sticky but it fell again the next day. I’d expected a lot more than seven months use. Subtracting another star.EDIT IIA few days ago I was contacted by mirrorvana and they are going to send a replacement mirror. A nicely worded email. I’ll install the mirror later and see how it goes. When I first installed the mirror, it went great. The suction cup comes with a piece of film that is removed to reveal a sticky surface for extra adhesion to the wall of the shower. It stayed in place and worked fine for a couple months, then I decided to try it on a different spot inside the same tile-walled shower. After moving the shower the suction cup holds for an hour or two at most, then it clatters to the floor of the shower. I have tried it with dry shower walls, damp shower walls, with tile scrubbed with 409, on walls scrubbed with vinegar - all to no avail. The mirror stuck the initial installation but now it just won't hold, even back in the original spot on the shower wall (I tried, in case that place was somehow magic). Read more
Will not stick to textured tile...And I understand why not...SO, I got some metal plates for cell phonesand stuck two big ones side by side to the tileand it still did not stick to those, even thoughthey are brand new/clean....Then added double-stick tape on top ofthose, and it stuck to those, for about an hour, until it fell off and clattered to the shower floor...It did not break at least....Seems it will only stick to a mirror or to glass showerdoors, neither of which helps me...Not sure how it would stick with the added weightof the hot water...Think I will just toss it and try something different.. This is by far the finest shower mirror I have ever used. Filling the area behind the mirror with water is genius and works perfectly. I wish you didn’t have to tip the mirror over to dump the old cold water out. This prevents me from wanting to store my razors on it since they will fall out when turning it to dump the water out. A release valve with a button or trap door at the bottom would be a more user-friendly solution. Read more
I'm a guy who likes to shave in the shower. This is the best shower mirror I have purchased. The idea of having the reservoir of warm water behind the mirror is just brilliant. The surface doesn't fog at all when you do this, and it's easy to just rotate the mirror when it's time to dump out the water.I've had no problem at all with the suction on the mirror. It's important to follow the directions that come with the mirror. Don't just stick it up somewhere like it's an ordinary suction cup. You have to rotate it as shown in the directions and then the mirror isn't going anywhere other than where you pit it. It's also important that you affix it to a smooth surface. You can't put it on a textured tile and expect it to hold. Any sort of smooth glass or tile is fine, however. Read more
I'll start with the downside. The mirror image gets more distorted the farther away you are from it. According to the seller, they opted for a plastic mirror for safety reasons. If you're within about a foot of the mirror, it's a usable image for shaving. The suction cup works well and is easily installed. My shower is a fiberglass surround, and I use grab bars that have the same type of suction cup mechanism. They are pretty reliable, but sometimes they do need to be reset. I imagine that will be the case for this mirror. I have had it for a couple of months, and it hasn't budged. I don't hang anything from the mirror (such as a razor), so there is no extra weight on itThe fog free aspect of this mirror has worked flawlessly. Filling the reservoir on the back of the mirror is easily done using the supplied beaker. Even in long, hot showers that cause all the other mirrors in the bathroom to fog up, this remains clear. The reservoir is easily emptied by rotating the mirror, so both filling and emptying are done without having to remove it from the shower wall. So, if you can adjust to a sometimes unstable image (when you are more than about a foot or so from it), the product performs pretty well. Here's looking at you! Read more
This is the second one of these mirrors I have bought. The first one was about 3 years ago and I was really pleased with the result. As you can see I have PVC panels in my bathroom and didn't want to drill any holes. The suction on these is great and they stay on really well. I would advise checking every couple of months as they will eventually fall off if left, but only after about 6 months or so. The idea is that you fill the reservoir at the rear of the mirror with warm water (from the shower). This prevents there being a heat difference between the mirror and shower, stopping the mirror from steaming up. It works really well. I have two small improvement suggestions. One is that you get a small container to help fill the reservoir. I would be good if this had a hook on it, so you could hang it on the back of the mirror, making it handy to get when needed. Second, if the attachments on the front coudl hold two razors then that woudl be good. I don't know what the other slot is for. Read more
I like this mirror. It tilts to accommodate your position in the shower. The feature preventing it steaming up works well. The only thing is that it does fall down after a month or two. Well mine did anyway. Not a big deal as it’s plastic and shatter proof but the sound of this does startle. I stopped using the razor rack because of this - my blade broke when it fell. Have some mild concerns that it might fall, bounce up and chip the glass of my shower cabinet. Read more
Works well and sticking to glass . Failed to stick to tiles however luckily shower is big enough to accommodate on glass. Note: if you have sliding doors keep that in mind Read more
Great, husband uses it every day! Really is anti fog and sticks to the tiles in the shower with no problem - have had this 3 months now and it hasn’t fallen off once. Read more
It works for not steaming up, but it has fallen off the tills fairly often. Read more
