I'm giving this 3 stars because it is definitely not the color I was expecting. I am a red head and even brown mascara is harsh with my skin tone. Not the result I was hoping for - I have very sensitive skin and am allergic to many things. My eyelashes had been falling out from allergic irritation and I found a small size of this mascara and decided to do a trial with it to see if my lashes would stop falling out. I liked the product itself well enough that I ordered a larger size to give it a decent chance to make a difference. I also ordered the Mineral Fusion eyeliner pencil. The mascara is a nice deep black color and does get some clumps but they are fairly easy to smooth out. It also washes off cleanly without leaving obvious residue on the edges of my eyelids. However, after using it for about 5 weeks, I noticed that my eyes were becoming very itchy toward the end of the day and there was a little itchy sting when any product contacted the base of my lashes. My lash loss was getting worse instead of better. I finally went back to a hypoallergenic drug store mascara I usually use and the end-of-day itching has immediately improved. I am still using the new eyeliner pencil so it doesn't seem to be causing any of the irritation. At this point, I would have to advise that if you are looking for something new for sensitive eyes with lash loss, you might not have any improvement with this product. Read more

I wanted so badly for this to be 'the one', sadly, the search for the perfect mascara continues. I had high hopes after finding this one via EWG. It does apply nicely, does add volume and legnth but holy freakin cow is it hard to remove!!! I have been an esthetician for 10 years and know how damaging it is tugging on your skin especially around the eye area but you almost have to in order to get this off your skin. It comes off the lashes alright but then stays in your skin so badly that even after using oil and gentle creamy cleaners I look like I found myself the morning after a rough night. The only thing I found that works well to remove it is a Norwex makeup cloth. The other reason, the real reason, its not a keeper is that it doesn't stay off the undereye area thought the day. I love this brand and I love the other colors of mascara so I was thrilled when I found the midnight [blue]. But the first tube was so dried out I returned it for a replacement which was also to dry to apply much product to buy lashes. I bought a 3rd tube at Whole Foods and it was dry so I exchanged it and the 4th try was OK. Still not nearly as smooth and lush as the other colors and needs many coats to be noticeable. Their blue formula must be quite different and needs improvement which I hope will happen soon. Read more

I've been using this mascara for a couple of years now. I've intermittently tried others... and then end up coming back to this. I like it because it's BLACK black; applies easily; I like the brush; and I can build it up if I want to (1 quick layer is fine for a natural look; but I'll do 3-5 passes on curled lashes if I want a falsies look! It really does build up well for me.) It also washes off completely. It doesn't irritate my eyes. What else can I say? Read more

The first Mineral Fusion mascara I purchased at a retailer was fabulous. Went on very easily, did not clump and stayed perfect until I removed it. I used it for 3 months before it started to dry up. So I decided to save a couple of $ & buy the second one from Amazon. I knew the first time I used it that was a big mistake. Clumpy and dry - as if it had already been used up! Of the natural mascaras I have tried, this is probably my favorite. No irritation, no flaking, and it doesn't get clumpy. It has a pleasant smell when applying and it dries quickly. It removes easily with warm water, or sometimes I will use coconut oil. It's not quite as voluminous as mainstream mascaras, but for not having the nasty chemicals, I'm pretty satisfied with this one.Edit: after many months of using this, I started to notice my natural lashes were getting shorter. Without mascara I barely even had lashes. I tried many natural techniques to grow my lashes, to no avail. I like this the best of all low toxic mascaras that I have tried so far because it does not irritate my eyes. It does thicken my eyelashes if I apply it with the tip of the brush in a few or more coats. It does not clump up like their lengthening mascara does. It does not smudge once it dries. It's not a wet formula. I only use it on the top lashes, I never use mascara on my bottom lashes. Read more

I absolutely LOVE this brand, I wish we had more product variety in the UK! Mineral Fusion are EWG approved which means they are completely toxic free. There are no harsh or nasty chemicals which you find in most brands even the expensive ones (Estee Lauder, Liz Earls). Plus they’re also cruelty free and vegan. I usually wear waterproof mascara as I have allergies and weepy eyes. If i don't, the streaks are an eventuality. But since most waterproof brands have been known to have "forever chemicals" in them I decided to change to a "healthier" alternative. I researched mineral fusions as one of those healthier alternatives, and despite it being 2x the cost of my regular mascara, I decided to give it a try.Glad I did! It lasts ALL DAY, with miniml streaking (i'd have to be crying/rubbing), and the quality is fantastic, it goes on great and looks way better than the crap I was using before.Now I want to buy more from this line! I like most Mineral Fusion products but this mascara has been disappointing. It does not hold a lash curl and most of the product is gone (2 coats) by the end of the day. I do appreciate the volume this mascara gives me upon application. Read more
