WOW! The smell alone is intoxicating. I threw out all my other mousse(s). I have fine/medium (?) hair, with very uneven waves. I typically straighten it or just put it in a ponytail (literally, one side of my head is goofy-curly-great, the other is barely curly and looks awful if I just let it dry). This mousse is darn near miraculous. It isn't marketed for increasing curls, or anything like that, but somehow it seems to even out my waves. I just scrunch it along as it dries and voila! Never, ever before have I had "wash and go" hair. Quite the opposite. I don't know what it is about this stuff, but I will never buy another mousse/similar product again. I have also used blow dryer on low when I need it dry more quickly, and that was almost as wonderful. Sounds ridiculous for a 40-something woman to say, but I have never embraced my uneven hair and have had to laboriously hide it, put it up, or otherwise mask it ... for the first time ever, I LOVE MY HAIR!! Please, Milkshake, don't stop making this product. I want to buy about 100 bottles just in case it gets discontinued or something ... there is nothing like it out there (drug stores OR professional products!) I bought this because the Sebastian whipped cream mousse was no longer on prime and this got 4.5 stars, but it is not the same. The smell is a little weird. People are saying they love the smell? It kinda smells like the buttered popcorn you get in the movie theaters. Don't want to smell like that. Milkshake does not have the same effect as the sebastian whipped cream mousse. I have fine highlighted hair, but a lot of it so can't have anything too weighty yet need the extra moisturizer and need something to keep my light waves intact. The Sebastian did that. The Milkshake doesn't allow my waves to do their thing. Milkshake has a bit of texturizing in it which is nice, but doesn't make up for the other factors and they don't let you return it. Oh.my. this stuff is amazing! Smells divine...inexplicable, really, because I want to say it smells honey and vanilla like, yet it doesn't smell sweet like food...hard to describe, but it isn't perfumey and doesnylinger. I love it!As for performance, that's amazing, too. Works similarly to Aveda Smooth Infusion style prep. I have shoulder length, fine, wavy hair that frizzes if I don't put anything in it. It is easily weighed down, and most products make it crunchy, which I don't like. This doesn't. It isn't enough hold, so I use a sebastion product on the ends, let is air dry and scrunch as it does. It seems the biggest issue with this product is the fragrance. Personally, I hate it. To me it smells like movie theater popcorn, or, more to the point, artificial butter flavoring. It does fade away pretty quickly, though. Other than smelling like food, there isn't much to say. It doesn't do anything for my hair, at least not any noticeable improvement in texture or shine. I'm always repurchasing this stuff. It's a great leave in that's not heavy at all. My hair is fine and thin, with oily roots and dry ends. I also play around with my color too. It's color safe and helps with detangling too. Milkshake makes a leave in spray too, but I prefer the mousse. This makes my hair soft and calms my dry ends, and it makes styling more manageable too.
