I was (make a 1/2 inch with your pointer finger and thumb) that close to needing a liver transplant. My doctors told me I had a year to live if I didn't get on the list. My symptoms were all there. I take NO medication that has any ill effects on the liver - this includes any painkillers. I do not eat beef or pork (they cause ammonia build up in the blood - which a compromised liver has a hard time processing. This can make you act delusional and irrational.Its been 3 years. my meld score is below where you can be placed on a waiting list.This is just one tool.
