I received these on January 27, 2020 with the expiration of 10/2020.Today I was sitting in a public lobby with 2 coworkers, I opened 1 took a drink and immediately started gaging it was toxic and rancid.I spit it out, and turned to my coworkers who immediately grabbed their mouths and faces.The smell was as overpowering as mustard gas which I have been through. I ran outside and threw it into a outside garbage can and ran to a bathroom to wash my mouth out.I was gagging the whole time and the rancid toxic smell was stuck on my lips and mouth.I started to wash my mouth out with the hand soap when I came out of the bathroom there were approximately 8 people gaging from the smell and spraying a deodorizer even though I had only had the can open in the air for less than 15 seconds.I immediately contacted Amazon who said there was nothing they can do about it, but my intentions were to warn them about this incident.I pretty much got a thanks and goodbye, but I did tell them I was contacting my local health department.I have been sick to my stomach for the last 10 hours and I am mortified of eating anything as of now and definitely will not be able to drink premix protein drinks for a while.I will be taking the rest of this case to DOH and want to WARN all to be careful of these. I used to do Body For Life by Bill Phillips and got back on it. It calls for Myoplex Shakes, but those are no more. MetRX is the closest to a full nutrition shake that Myoplex was.This ready to drink can is even better. It contains 51grams of protein, so I use it for a post recovery. It has vital nutrients and vitamins, and fiber that is filling for a meal replacement.I really wish y'all would stop with the reviews about "liquid metal" and all this other crap as I can't afford to have another Myoplex type drink go the way of the wind and this Ready To Drink Can is the best. It holds the flavor (no! It does NOT taste like metal) and comes out nice and cold if you like it that way. I personally drink mine at room temp. and it tastes great, but in the end the taste isn't all that matters here. It's what is on the inside and the formula here is second to none. Read more

Calling this "peanut butter" is a cruel joke. The taste is reminiscent of toxic waste that has had rancid peanut oil stored near it for a few decades. I physically recoiled after the first sip and immediately looked for punctures in the can and the batch production date. Unfortunately the can was in perfect shape and it isn't expired.High protein, multi-vitamin nutritional drinks are a staple of my diet, so I am very familiar with the strong "vitamin/chemical" taste of drinks like this. That said, this particular drink and flavor might be the worst thing I think I've ever drank.Assuming the nutritional label is correct, it shouldn't kill you to drink this; but I urge you to try something else. Just to counteract some of the reviews about the terrible taste of these meal replacement shakes, I thought they tasted pretty good actually. I had my first can of the peanut butter cup flavor, and while it's not as good as, for instance, the Premier Protein shakes I regularly buy at Costco (which have only 30g of protein), they're nowhere near the low end of the spectrum in terms of taste. I quite enjoyed the creamy peanut butter flavor, and I'm impressed not only with the huge amount of protein in one can, but the 3g of net carbs and 1000 mg of calcium (80% of daily requirement). These are super convenient to have on hand in the fridge when I need a quick protein boost, or when I simply want a meal replacement. If they go on sale, I definitely plan to stock up on these. I am in my 60's and started new workouts with a trainer this past year. I tried other protein drinks which either didn't have the proteins and vitamins these have or could not tolerate the taste. I drink one within a half hour of working out and have been really happy with the energy and surprised at the muscle gain for my age. I have only tried the frosty chocolate so I can only attest to that flavor but I put these in the freezer for about 10 minutes to get them really cold and they taste much better than all the others I have tried. I have now re-ordered multiple times and 51 has become my go to protein drink. If you are busy and have to skip a meal, they are a quick substitute to avoid a hunger crash. Read more

These were a tad expensive, but they do feature quality ingredients and a massively high protein count, so it was worth the cost. Got these for my friend that needed some extra nutrients and protein in her diet. She said they tasted great! If they go on sale, I'll get them again. Read more
