The media could not be loaded.  We like toys that appeal to a wide age range. Melissa and Doug recommend this dashboard for ages 3+, but we have a four and one year old who both enjoy playing with it. There are no removable pieces—the one year old likes watching her sister pretend drive, but she can also operate many of the features herself. This is updated to better match today’s vehicles—it has a fun GPS system. When the shift gears are put into drive, the GPS screen goes into action mode. Little drivers must keep the tiny screen car on the road as it passes through cities and countryside. There are lots of other interactive features besides that one—like four music channels that play snippets of songs, an ignition key, blinkers, adjustable air vents, flashing hazard lights, beeping horn, and a timer that counts down to an empty gas tank. I listed just a few—the bottom of the box (see picture) lists all features and what they do. Sounds are realistic and music is upbeat. This keeps both toddlers busy, and it’s a toy they enjoy playing with together—as driver and passenger. I’m not sure how long that seating arrangement will last, but I am glad the dashboard is such an entertaining toy. Read more

I bought 2 for Christmas 2020 my nephew an son opened toys that one did not work the other did . The toy is boring there isn't much it can actually do. I expected engine sounds and such but no . Not at all what I was looking for . The search for engine sounding gear changing toys is still on . Read more

I bought this toy as a gift for my son. He went to stay with his grandparents for one month. When he got back I had this toy waiting on him. As soon as I opened it and put the batteries in there was some type of electrical issue. The sounds would not play consistently. Also as you can see in the picture the timer knob broke off. I paid $50 for this toy and it isn’t even worth half that price. I tried to return it but they said the 30 day window had closed even though I had an opened it within that time frame. They told me to contact the manufacturer “ Melissa and Doug “. The manufacturer took my information and told me I would be getting an email. It has been about one week and I have still not received an email or had any contact from them.UPDATE: After contacting the manufacturer “ Melissa and Doug“ they generously sent me a replacement free of charge. The replacement works great. I am thankful they run a honest family business and ensures the customer satisfaction. In return for their great business I give this product a four star rating Read more

When this works, I give it 5 stars - both my 4.5 and my 1.5 year old (who I got it for) enjoy it -- lots of buttons to press, levers to turn, gears to move, etc. I'm an analog person, but I didn't mind the noises, which the kids enjoyed. It has 4 "radio stations" that each play a different type of tune, which my son enjoyed dancing to.However, after having it for just 7 weeks, the electronics (so, any buttons -> noises) don't work now. I changed the batteries - no luck. I tried to unscrew all the screws to see if I could get into it and do anything to fix it, but I don't think there's a way to get inside (they understandably use glue in addition to screws). This durability issue is a major bummer, and I haven't found a way to request a repair or replacement. Read more

My kids were playing with my husband’s old gaming steering wheel and it ended up breaking apart a week ago. They were pretty upset because they love pretending to drive so I looked to find another one. There were cheaper options than this one but they were just the plain steering wheel, no buttons or gear shift so I decided to give this one a try. My boys loved it so much that I had to sit with them for hours having them take turns playing so they wouldn’t fight over it. I didn’t realize there was a little window that shows the car on the road but my 3 year old LOVES it! He likes to set the timer on the gas gage and when it goes off he lets me know he’s pulling into the gas station (there’s a little gas station in the window part). Anyway, we loved it so much we bought another one the same afternoon so both boys can drive together. The only negative I thought was that maybe the wheel was a little small but I think it’s because I’m used to seeing my kids playing with a “grown up” sized wheel, they seemed to have zero issue with the size. I got this for my 3.5 yr old. I like that it copies real-life steering wheel. My little one’s favorite is turning the key on and signal lights for Right and left. I also like how it is easy to operate for a toddler. Two things i dont like is the sounds/music and light features dont last long when turned on. Because of this, my toddler gets bored easily playing it. Second, i think it is overpriced for that reason. Read more

I think we are just paying for the fact that it’s made of wood and also the brand. It doesn’t have much to it. The knob for the gas tank timer should have had a stopping mechanism so that kids can’t just keep turning it, as the first thing my 3 year old did was turn it so far it popped off immediately, so there went that. The blinker I can see breaking if he gets rough. It’s a cute concept. We pretend to drive places. The music is a waste. It plays like 5 seconds of each tune. Who does that? Maybe an on/off button for music would have been better? Honestly, not worth the price. Better to look for a cheaper secondhand one or an entirely different product altogether. Sorry Melissa and Doug but it’s just not that great, Read more

I'm so disappointed 😞 I might have gotten that one bad one, but it was for my son for Christmas. He is obsessed with cars (steering/wheels/dashboards) and it doesn't work. Read more
