I've always used Rubie's spirit gum in the past. It was easy to find and fairly cheap... well, I'll never go back. It's amazing the difference in quality for just a few dollars more. The gum becomes tacky quickly, holds longer, and is easier to remove once the need for prosthetics is done. I find less residue on my skin and it even comes off easily with alcohol wipes. Use it for lace front wig application; I apply it with a (throwaway) paintbrush, set a time for 1 minute, and then put the wig on. I have only a few seconds to make minor adjustments, but then that wig is ON until I don't want it on anymore. I'm going to buy the matching brand remover though; the remover I have doesn't seem to work very well, nor do other makeup removers that I have. Read more

Doesn't work as advertised. Could maybe be used for something as light as face gems but for the half inch lightweight horns I intended to use this for it held for about 5-10 minutes as long as I didn't move. Spent about an hour or 2 trying to make it work. As I attempted to glue each of the little horns on the last "successful" one would fall off. I gave up and found some skin safe lash glue which held all night and cost about 1 dollar. Read more

Not sure why they have a fit survey in this review, but I love the fact that it is so big. I do consulting with theaters and artists in musicals so I have been able to use this well and looks like I will be able to use it for quite a while since it is such a large bottle. Good stuff, it's what the pros use to attach special effects make-up prosthetics to actors bodies. a little goes a long way. I highly recommend having spirit gum remover on hand to remove the appliances or you can damage or irritate your skin trying to peel the pieces off. Lasts for hour even when moving and sweating. One of my friends asked to be a Zombie for Comic-con in San Diego this past july and his "wounds" were still in place 18 hours later. It was hot, and he was all over down town posing for pics etc not sitting in an air conditioned room. That was a real marathon for ANY makeup job. This stuff just flat works. Read more

I don't know whats in this particular spirit gum but I'm allergic to it, opposed to other companies like Rubie's Costumes and Cinemas Secrets. If you use those other brands, keep in mind that this one is manufactured differently. Apart from the allergen I think the spirit gum did it's job fairly well. I was unable to get this product to adhere a lace beard. I have had lots of experience with Spirit Gum and this brand was a lot thinner and more alcohol smelling than others. It stuck the beard initially buy it fell off with very slight facial movements. Not recommended for lace hair products. Read more
