I'm reposting, because it seems as if my first review didn't take. This product was great. The coverage was absolutely stellar. I have a dark complexion, and I had relatively little bleed through. I did two coats to achieve my 40s black and white girl. You get a tremendous amount of product. I was able to do my face, chest, on touch ups throughout the day. I even mixed some of the product with some cheaper black makeup in order to do my contouring and I didn't even make a dent.I highly recommend setting the makeup with a setting powder. I used a loose $6 elf HD powder. Mehron has a setting powder that's slightly more expensive but mine was perfect. Setting the makeup really reduces product transfer. I fell asleep on the couch and expected to wake up to a makeup-laden horror scene, but my couch cushions were unscathed. As a side note, this is probably the best Halloween costume I've ever done, however I started out looking like I should be crawling out of a TV somewhere. Remember, the product is all one flat color. If you are considering doing the black and white/Pleasantville look, just make sure to contour with a darker color. Hope this helps! Read more
I ordered the white creamstick and the purple and they were perfect! The purple was a little weirdly greasy and see through but looked perfect with a white base under. It feels weird putting it on, but after smoothing ONE LAYER out with a beauty blender and then setting it, it feels like wearing foundation. Not streaky, looks almost like skin when wearing it! It lasted hours at a hot convention and was definitely worth every penny! So much better than the paradise paint, and snazaroo! First time using it and I’m super setisfied, don’t think I’ll ever go back to water based paints! Read more
I used to sell Theatrical Makeup in a full service costume shop, years ago. We primarily sold Ben Nye, Kryolan, Graftobian, and some Mehron. Recognizing the name, I decided to buy this without hesitation for a geisha makeup look (I generally prefer using Ben Nye Magicake in Cloud White for the most true consistency, but I was in a bind and just needed a quick white foundation). Bad move! Good thing I tested it on myself the day before I met with the client, because there was literally nothing I could have done to achieve an even application.Brushes and sponges leave streaks behind. It never truly sets with powder. It never dries down, so it is always moveable and constantly ruined on your face and ruining your clothes. You cannot build up opacity, because any further application of product takes the original layer away. I thought maybe I had a bad batch, but one of the models had brought Mehron's Clown White (a thicker product than the creme blend stick, which goes on very smoothly), and had the same results. It's just a bad formula.Ben Nye creme foundations and Kryolan TV sticks are still a fave, and I would heartily recommend them over this. If you're in a pinch, LA Girl has a white liquid foundation that works like a dream. PLEASE dont waste your money on this. Read more
My boyfriend and I used this for our Halloween makeup, and it worked exceptionally well! Stayed on all night, and did not irritate our skin.I did use this in conjunction with the Mehron barrier spray as a primer, applied with an eyeliner brush and drugstore applicator sponges, over the white CreamBlend stick after setting with Mehron setting powder, and put more barrier spray over the top of the finished product. A little goes a long way.Picture was taken at the very end of the night, with impaired photography skills, after 7 hours of wear, much dancing, and no touchups. Read more
Used this on my 7 year old and it was perfect. She has sensitive skin so I decided I would spend a little extra on the make-up. I am so glad I went this route. I've used regular run of the mill Halloween products on my older child a couple times and they would leave streak marks. This product by Mehron is fantastic. I used the recommended primer, but the make-up went on so smoothly. There were no streaks or clumps. After I applied the recommended setting powder it was still smooth looking. It didn't leave any creases and the dark eyes stayed on without any bleeding. Used it to cover her skin to a paper white from the entire face to the entire neck area (front to back). It even worked well on the lips (no creases). After being out in the rain for over and hour I was wondering what condition my "Vintage Corpse" would be in. She looked perfect. Exactly the same. The when it cam time to wash it off it wasn't difficult at all, even the dark eyes came off easily. I recommend using this cream for full white make-up, especially if you have sensitive skin. >.. I bought this for Halloween Make-Up. Several reviews that I read were very positive, so I ordered this, the clown white face and the setting powder. I'm an old fart and not interested in scaring kids, or worrying their parents. I plan to go out as "Spot" with a dog nose, white face, and black around one eye. To see how good coverage was, I opened this stick, and wiped it around my eye. The coverage was amazing, and it really looked black, not dark blue or purple or brown. It went on as easily as lipstick in commercials [I'm a guy, so don't use lipstick]. The density was remarkable, where applied, it was totally black. The product has a base that makes sense of the term "grease paint" and the setting powder is to help it stay in place. The product has no noticeable odor, or fumes to irritate the eyes. I was comfortable the entire time I was wearing it.>.. The removal was easy, and quite simple and I used several products to test efficiency. Make-up remover towelettes - worked. Make-up remover itself applied and wiped with paper towel worked, as did coconut oil and paper towel. I did NOT try this as lipstick, as I don't intend to blacken my lips, but I would choose a black lipstick made for lips instead of this product.>.. NOTE: If you wear glasses, as I do, be sure to remove make-up from them, as it transfers easily back onto your face at every opportunity {personal experience}. Look carefully, as my glasses frames are black, and it hid in several places. Read more
If I could give this minus 3 stars or worse I would. This has got to be the worst makeup I have EVER used!! I'm a makeup artiste and there is NO Way to get this stuff to apply evenly and have a smooth texture. It's just impossible. I have really good skin - no wrinkles, no blemishes, really smooth texture and no visible pores. I tried various combinations of primers, serums, moisturisers, powdered over primer and/or moisturiser before applying it, no moisturiser, no primer, applied with brush, tried to buff in, damp beauty blender, dry makeup sponges and no matter what I did, it still looks like night of the living dead, ends up splotchy. patchy and just unworkable. I've known of Mehron for years. It's an old school brand of theatrical makeup from decades ago, that I just never touched or consider using it even in theatrical productions because they were always such bad formulations. Unfortunately the pigments and blend of this makeup performs like that same antiquated theatrical grease paint. Imagine if you took a lot of white pigment and mixed it into vaseline, tried to apply it and that's just about the texture you get with this garbage! I can't believe they get away with selling this, or that anybody would ever repeat buy this after trying it. Simply DREADFUL! Read more
Used for Drag Makeup. Perfect for a base if mixing colour pigment powders to create a more dramatic/club-kid look. It is “creamier” and easier to mix than say, Grimas paint sticks (though Grimas are sometimes better to get a solid cover). As always, super speedy delivery. Read more
Better than the kryolan tvpaint stick. It's less oily and stays on longer. Read more
