I saw lots of blogs that mentioned Vibrant Violet as being one of the better Maybelline shades, but I found it disappointingly weak. If it had been more opaque, I think the color would have been nice, but you could swipe it back and forth all day long and still have bald patches and streakiness. A lip primer might have helped, but that always leaves me feeling like I have drying mud on my mouth.In the photos, you can see how sheer the color is, especially towards the outer edges of my mouth, where it looks like I have pink lipliner on (I don't---it's just that the perimeter stayed too translucent to visually register as purple.)My experience with Maybelline bullet lipsticks has been hit or miss. Some have been excellent (e.g. Rich Ruby) and others, such as the Shine Compulsion Scarlet Flame, have been amongst the worst lipsticks I have ever tried. I gotta say, I absolutely love these Maybelline Color Sensational lipsticks! They feel amazing on my lips. Glides on smoothly, can be built up easily by adding more and more layers, smells like sweet vanilla, and lasts hours longer on my lips than a typical balm or creamy lip product. My favorite part about these: the super inexpensive price! I've tried some "luxury" lipsticks here lately and honestly there's no reason for me to spend more than $10 on a decent lipstick when these Sensational lippies and colors are out on the market. A lot of expensive brands are too drying or are nice and creamy but don't last long, which kinda defeats the purpose of spending a lot of dough on something. Maybelline's got the best of both worlds. I have this in Brazen Berry (goes on a beautiful fuchsia pink but can be built up to a bright purple) and Electric Orange (which is definitely electric!). Ok, I'm very nervous about lip colors. Being a Black woman, sometimes colors can either bleach out our skin or just look all wrong. My skin is medium brown and I usually go for reds, which can sometimes drain my complexion and make me look pale and sickly. But I decided to go a little different and chose brazen berry. OH MY GOD! This color is on point! It's just a hint of pinky-purple, it goes so nicely with my skin tone. I wore it today and got tons of compliments on it and my lips feel so moist even in this cold New York weather. I LOVE it!!!! I'm thinking of getting a different color in my next order.My only problem is, I'm not certain because I've never ordered lipstick I always buy it at the pharmacy, but this didn't have any kind of wrapping or safety seal on it. Beautiful, bold, and rich! Love this color. I ordered this (BRAZEN BERRY) along with a clear lip liner to go with it.Goes on smoothly and I can skip chapstick without feeling dryness later. Blotting takes away shine without removing color but I think it has a nice shine, without lip gloss.Uploaded photos for you to see the color. Just the right shade -- a pop of pink-purple. Goes on nicely, but I do need the occasional touchup. Does not make my lips dry or chapped like other inexpensive lipsticks. Because it's a medium shade, I recommend a neutral lip pencil if you experience feathering. Container is easy to find in my purse and thus far doesn't come off unexpectedly. First, the packaging about this was weird. No plastic seal; nothing on it that actually said "Maybelline." If I thought more about it at the time, I probably wouldn't have tried it on given that it had no safety seal.I bought this because I wanted a very purple lipstick for a costume. I'm in love! There are just so many vibrant colors available. Difficult to choose so I try to find my base color for the season and build my arsenal around it, easy to wear and looks great. The moisture in the lipsticks make my lips feel fully lubricated throughout the day. Read more

Like it a lot. VERY purple ("Violet Volt"), matte finish, not a subtle shade but an evening wear color. Not one of those that stays on for hours, however. Good value. (Because it is purple, teeth will tend to look more yellow unless they are very white, maybe not an issue in the evening.) I brought "vibrant violet" as this plum shade looked really attractive. The product is amazing. It's allover a different shade which I think really less people have tried. I think if you want a different kind off look then you should definitely go for this shade. It glides on easily and stays for 5-6 hours. I'm really happy with this product.
