I wanted to get a kabuki brush for travel and these definitely fit the bill. These brushes are similar to the Tarte brush and Mac 167SH (pics attached), but definitely not exact dupes if that's what you're after. I used the flat top brush for liquid foundation and then buffed out any lines caused by the brush hairs with a beauty blender like I usually do. It's very soft and not too compact. I used the rounded top brush for powder foundation. Both applied very well with almost no shedding. Leaves a nice almost airbrushed finish on the skin. Overall, I would definitely recommend these brushes. I've had them for about a week and they perform beautifully. I'm hoping they hold up well for the long haul, but only time will tell! Read more

This is my first foundation brush. I have been a cave woman by just using my finger tips to apply my makeup or my recent purchase was a beauty sponge, I really did not care for it(as in I disliked it very much). I am very minimal when it comes to make up. I applied very little liquid on the brush and the coverage was smooth and streak free. I am super satisfied that these brushes were inexpensive and they do such a great job. Ultra soft brushes(like petting a puppy's fur). Bristles are too soft and flimsy for my use with mineral powders and my other makeup. I swirl my mineral powder into my skin (as instructed for my powder) and these brushes just smash down into my skin. My old minerals/makeup brushes were the best! Just enough substance to them for this purpose. These may be good to apply a light finishing powder that don't require any pressure on the bristles to apply the powder/makeup.Yes, they seem to be well made, but I just don't like them for applying my makeup--tried to return them but got a message that these were not returnable.No where on the Matto bamboo makeup brush web page is this mentioned ! This product arrived without one of the brushes. Only one brush was included even though the original description was for two bamboo makeup brush set. Also, it was much smaller than expected and had a silver metal handle, not wood or bamboo. I returned but never received refund. Read more

Nice to receive two types of brushes. I'm pretty much a newbie to make up (even though I'm 61) and am definitely watching too many youtube videos on skincare. These brushes are soft and full. From the photos, these look very dense, like Kabuki brushes, but they're not. These are very soft, but really poor density. I purchased them for liquid, cream and powder foundation, but they aren't dense enough to do a good job. I'm using them as powder brushes. They are flimsy and too flexible when trying to buff in powder foundation or stipple liquid foundation. They just bend and cave in. I recommend the DuCare brand, they have much better density. I've had these brushed for almost a no the now and I got to say, I really dig them. I use them about 2-3 times a week. The brushes are small, pretty good quality, and are not falling apart. My only super small con is I wish the flat top brush was a little more stiffer. A little more hairs packed into it. But that's all. Thumbs up! Read more

**Update: 👌🏻 Okay! I'm converted. I'm use to the stiffer flat foundation brush by Sigma, but this one is actually just as good, actually better! It has a bigger brush head as well, so quicker coverage too! It applied my foundation beautifully & I love this brush now! The round brush head I use for powder or blush. Great buy!Petite & cute! Fits in hand nicely. Very soft bristles. But the flat brush is not as dense/stiff as I would like to apply foundation with. The rounded brush seems perfect as a powder blush or blush brush. The flat one seems to be good as an allover after blending/buffing of cream/liquid blush & foundation. Read more
