I am 5’2” and suffer from sciatica. (I am not pregnant.) After a recent visit to my chiropractor, I told him I keep waking up on my stomach (which is terrible for someone with lower back disc problems), which I thought was a result of not being able to sleep comfortably in any other position at night. I asked what he thought about u-shaped body pillows, and he said his patients who have them swear by them. Originally I purchased another brand that offered a memory foam u-shaped body pillow with a nice, soft tee-shirt material gray cover. It was heavenly, but too short for me to also support my ankles when sleeping with one side of the body pillow between my knees to take pressure off my lower back. I kept it for use on the sofa, and I’m glad I did.Then I ordered this larger U-shaped body pillow, and it has been miraculous! When I sleep on my side, the pillow is long enough to support my knees and ankles. When I sleep on my back, I tuck the “legs” of the body pillow inward and make a bolster for my knees to rest on, which takes pressure off my lower back. Ahhhhhh!I was originally afraid this pillow would be too thick for my head and that it would keep my neck at a poor angle. However, that is not the case. This pillow is thick but also fluffy enough for my head to sink in enough while I sleep on my back to provide level neck support.Since I have begun using this body pillow, my sciatica and neck pain have improved, I sleep much better, and I don’t have to constantly adjust six queen size pillows to do the same job.The only downside is that at the time of order the only sold color this came in was white. I have two Dobermans who sleep with me, and I don’t want white sheets or body pillows because they will show dog hair. But, not everything can be perfect to everyone all the time.Dog Approved: If you sleep with dogs and think they will not steal your body pillow when you leave the bed, think again. My dobermans LOVE curling up in this body pillow during daytime naps. I make my bed over the body pillow in the morning, and then my male Doberman pulls the covers down so he can sleep in the soft silky cover of the u-shaped pillow. Ha! Ha! Therefore I have resigned myself not to worry about dog hair showing on the white pillow case, and to having to buy one annually since it looks like three of us (myself and both Dobermans) will be sharing this body pillow. They reached out to me for my mediocre satisfaction and issued a refund!Pros:- XL size, good for taller people like myself- Great for side sleepers- Adequetly stuffed- Cover machine washable- Very warmCons:- Kind of a hassle to change the cover- Takes up a lot of space- The gap in the middle is larger than what looks like in the photo. For example, if you're sleeping on your side then you won't really feel the other arm cradling your back.- Sleeping on your back will make your shoulders roll forward- The sitting up position isn't as comfortable as I had thought. I DID NOT get a Marine Moon pillow. I got a pillow made by some brand called “happiKids”. It’s a little lumpy. I also didn’t get any additional stuffing like other reviewers received.On the plus side, this pillow is fairly comfortable. About 65” long. Do not be deceived by the plumpness of the pillow in the pictures! It is nothing like that.The cotton insides are about the same as a cheap $10 pillow you might get from a big box store. They did not lift my knees enough for pain relief, nor were they nice to snuggle. In addition, the neck part of the pillow comes to a hard, choking seam that was difficult to put in a comfortable place.I returned it asap. Read more

I am not pregnant but have always had issues with getting comfortable with my legs and spine. I can't believe what I was missing out on for so long. I turned mine upsidedown so that I am essentially in a "nest" and have the ability to just lift my ankles or put my knees up but it does not impact my pillow usage. I love this thing so much. I’m obsessed with this pillow. It feels like I’m sleeping in a giant hug. It was packaged perfectly, came double wrapped in vacuum sealed plastic and even came with extra stuffing in case you want to adjust the firmness. This purchase is the main problem I have with Amazon and searching for things on Amazon. I specifically searched for memory foam u shaped pillows and this came up in the list and I stupidly did not double check before purchasing. Not why I gave it 3 stars, though.It's not very cooling. Doesn't heat me up more than my old head pillows, but it's not too much better.It's not very supporting. Because it's just polyfil my head just sinks right through the pillow. No support for side sleepers at all, and since it's a U shaped pillow, it's supposed to be for side sleepers.I'd send it back, but how the heck am I supposed to return a huge 5'5" / 165cm Pillow?
