Instructions indicated 1 jar for every 4-5" of hair. She has 24" of hair. I didn't realize how much hair she has until we had committed to a budget. I used Manic Panic Flash Lightning 40 bleach. Best ever bleach. I used 4 bottles. We could have used 6. We ad 5 jars of color. Could have used 6 jars or more. Used 3 for initial coloring. Waited a week and used the remaining 2 jars for a touch-up. Not sure why we ended up with teal and not a darker blue as shown on the jar. Possibly we didn't use enough color. We are happy with how it is. The picture shows uneven areas. More color would have solved this. She has a tender head neither the bleach nor the color aggravated her scalp or skin. The aroma was pleasant. I didn't rate longevity as it is a semi-permanent color and a little washes out with shampooing. For 4 years we've used other products and have had hair colored by a salon so we have experience with the process. Highly recommended Manic Panic. Use the gloves and cap. Protect your clothes, use old towels. I spray the tub with Pam or something close so the color isn't absorbed into the finish. Read more

This is terrible. It was recommended but a waste of money. I bleached my daughter's hair then used this. It looked great! She was happy! She washed it ONE time though with cool water and it was patchy and terrible. Not really washed out, but not really there either. We were left with the option of rebleaching or buying a different dye. (Splat for the win!) Read more

Bright Smurf blue! I adored this color. Every time I saw my refection, I smiled.The product is easy to use and unlike many conventional store hair dyes, you can keep a partial open container for weeks (out of the sun, etc).Like all of these fun colors, it fades quickly, especially if exposed to warm water. But if you wash in cold water, it lasts much better. Personally, I like the way it looks as it fades; it's like getting half a dozen looks for an hour's work. :) Read more

The color was super pretty but faded super fast, as most blues due unfortunately. The color lasted about a month and faded into a green teal/grey which wasn’t the prettiest color. The dye smelled nice and was easy to clean up off of counter tops and skin. Read more

I wanted really blue hair so I bleached my hair before I used this product. The Bad Boy Blue had so many green highlights in it that it cane out looking more green then blue. Also it says that it starts to fade in about 4 to 6 weeks. Mine started fading with in two weeks and is gone by four weeks. Read more

I like the color. It works the best on fully bleached hair. The first time my hair wasn't bleached through and was more yellow, so the color came out green of course. It still looked really good. It needs to be touched up after a few washes, but otherwise it's a good strong color. Much better than their pink color. Read more

Added multiple pictures with different lights and wet vs dark (no filters). Applied to level 7-8 hair. Left on for 45 minutes. Rinsed in cold water.. did not use shampoo (and I plan to avoid shampooing it as much as possible). Not sure how long it’ll last but very pretty! Thought it would be a royal blue, but I love it! My first time using manic panic and I think I'll try them again.I wish I'd have seen how much you actually get though cause it was a tiny pot for £15, however it did manage to coat all my hair (I left the ends mainly to put something else on them).Wished it would have gripped more to my root area, but I understand that wasn't as light as it could have been!Love the thick texture as it means no dripping and it surprisingly goes a long way! Love the overall tone and shade.My hair is left feeling drier than usual (did leave it on for about an hour and i think its less conditioning than the other dyes i use, vegetable based). Think I'd like to try this shade again, or others generally, when I eventually fully bleach my whole head again as I reckon that shall show best results! Read more

Disappointing results. Left blonde hair a barely slate tinged colour and not blue as expected from the reviews and descriptions of this brand. Daughter is not happy with the barely there colour. Expensive for the small pot which contains just about enough for covering an ear length pixie cut.Will not be recommending to anyone and will not be buying again. Read more

This is for very light hair definitely, I thought it was a very intense deep blue but non of that, it's some pastel blue that turn green into light brown hair, if you are looking for an intense blue and you don't have white hair do not buy this color, I did split hair with pink and the pink was ridiculously strong and this blue is just no that stronger compare to the pink so my split hair came out really odd Read more
