I am returning the cactus rattle toy. I never take the time to leave reviews but wanted to this time. As soon as I opened it, the little "puffs" of light green on the cactus began to shed. If you gently tug them, more fabric/string comes off in your hand. I cannot imagine giving this to an infant to play with, as it will definitely be going in their mouth, with them gnawing off the little pieces of fabric from the tufts. These are super cute, and the magnets are well secured, so no worries for your baby in that respect. They’d even be great for display. My baby does loose interest quite quickly, and it’s not a really a toy she returns to. Also not the greatest item for teething since they are not easily cleaned. I find it a bit overpriced for what you’re actually getting, but would be an adorable gift because of its aesthetic. Read more

Its about the size i expected. None of the other reviewers posted photos of this one so here you go. My first thought was that it looked a little dingy colored and has a couple dark spots like maybe dirty hands had handled it but I'm just got to wash it and move on. The buzzing is pretty intense but my baby loves it. Theres also a jingling bell inside the bee that my baby likes the sound of. He seems to be able to hold it easy enough. I like the bold dark stripes on the bee itself and on the ribbons it definitely caught his interest. Read more

Our baby LOVES this toy. The high contrast is perfect for keeping her attention! The satin wing has a crinkly feel to it (it's one sided), and when you pull down on the bee and release, the whole toy shakes. We attach it to the braces over her playmat and she loves it! She enjoys it so much that we purchased a few other toys from the same company (an octopus, a little green monster, a narwhal) and the quality has been consistently great across the board! Read more

This is the second item purchased from Manhattan Toy that we felt was unsafe. The fuzzy “needles” on this cactus rattle pull out fairly easily. It’s entirely possible that a child could choke on these bits. :( Cute design but potential for problems. Read more

Even without the vibrating buzz, my 6 month old grand-daughter happily plays with this. She is even more delighted when someone pulls the ring to cause the "buzz." As she flails it around, sometimes into her face, the soft cloth is only a surprise, rather than a pain. She can easily hold the ring while flapping it about. Read more
