Peppermint oil is surprisingly helpful. I live in Kansas where bugs want to bite you or your plants along with relentless rodents that love eating wiring in machinery, It's a game changer. I make a spray using the oil with water. It doesn't take much oil to keep insects away. It mixes fine with water and you can spray it wherever you have problem. I spray my clothes, hat and boots when I go outside to work. Not being one for measuring, I'd say I use maybe a half teaspoon to an 8oz. spray bottle of warm water shake it up and use it. It's a strong smelling oil. It doesn't stain my clothes. You can use it to keep flies off picnic tables. mosquitoes, ants, bees, ticks, chiggers. deer and the list goes on. You can spray it on your skin. You do have to spray more often for mosquitoes than when you use poison repellents. In cars and other machinery you can soak thin strips of cotton and tie them on places within the engine that will not interfere with the motor or where it gets hot. Go back and respray the cloth after a month or so to keep it smelly. It also keeps deer and coons out of things. This is a good quality oil well worth the money. The larger size is a better deal.
