At first I thought I liked this gel pack. I only did an initial review because they said I would get a free gel pack for doing so, which I never received. After having this for a few months, I can say I am not a big fan but I still do use it because it’s what I have and it does the job, sort of. I like how it has straps to hold in in place. I do not like how it is super hard when you take it out of the freezer. Like way too hard. I usually take it out for 20 minutes before I use it so I am able to bend it to the shape of my shoulder. Also, where the seams are, the gel is starting to seep out. I would recommend looking for a better gel pack than this one. I've only had this a week, but so far it works great. It completely invelopes the shoulder in ice cold compression. No leaking thus far. Imo it is not to hard and conforms as desired/expected. For those who have indicated its difficult to put on, have someone help get it on for the first time and make sure shoulder strap is where you want it. Next strap arm strap. When removing, only undo arm strap and lift ice pack over head with shoulder strap intact. Put back in freezer. When using solo, just slide chest strap over head and position pack on shoulder. Then reattach arm strap. All set. Lay on couch and let the magic cooling sensation lull you into a zen like state. Read more

Product stays frozen for longer than other ice packs, and is comfortable to wear. However, if you do not have somebody available to help you put it on and take it off, forget it. You absolutely cannot put this on by yourself, especially if, like me, you are using it for a frozen shoulder (or anything else that restricts your range of motion). Read more

I have been going to PT for 3 weeks now and after every session they put an ice pack on my shoulder. I went online and bought the shoulder Magic Gel for my home use. It's not as heavy as what I use in PT, but it definitely gets the job done. I bought a large since they were out of stock on the medium -- I am a petite person and the large still fits perfect (I just have a lot more velcro wrapping.) I have a subscapular problem so I need to actually ice under my armpit in addition to the top of the shoulder and the arm portion of this shoulder pack is large enough to get to that hard to reach area (another reason I'm glad I got the large one!) Magic Gel is well made and sturdy; holds up well in the freezer and when you take it out of the freezer, it's not so stiff like other packs I have used. I never thought much about body specific ice packs until I developed tendonitis in my upper right arm. I've been dealing with a rotator cuff disintegration for several months. The pain was debilitating, until I used this shoulder ice pack to bring down the swelling that was causing the pain. (No surgery until after this pandemic) The relief was both surprising and effective! Anti-inflamation medication was out of the question, because I'm on a blood thinner. I bought this shoulder biceps j after I recently had a shoulder injury and will have surgery soon. I was a little skeptical that it would have lasting cooling. I tried it last night for the first time. I tried putting it one with one hand, and with some prep, was able to get it in fairly well. Secondly, it was cold! So cold. I had in a t-shirt only, next time will also place a tea towel between the ice pack and shoulder. Near the end of use there were only a few drips from condensation, not bad at all. I wiped it down before placing back in the freezer. After my first use I feel confident I will be able to ice my shoulder after surgery on my own. My husband had rotator cuff surgery. We ordered two of these to use. One to keep in the freezer while the other one is being used. It actually stays cold on his shoulder for about an hour. His Doctor said it was fine to leave it on his shoulder for one hour and then one hour off. These will also be very helpful for when he starts physical therapy for his shoulder for pain and possible swelling. Read more

Amazon is not allowing my true review with pictures of the injury caused by this contraption and why is that?People are entitled to all facts, are they not?It is difficult to put it on ,as conveniently omitted in the promotional video, only the easy part is shown. It is too stiff and uncomfortable and not good to treat the shoulder area.I was wearing short sleeve and unaware of the part touching my lower arm as the pictures show the serious injury it caused.The cold numbed my arm and I wasn’t aware that it was burning my skin. I didn’t feel anything and that is the point here.Maybe if Amazon had allowed other such reviews with actual pictures I could have avoid it happening to me. I have used gel ice packs for many years but of course they cover a small area and are no big deal.This kind of manipulation of facts and control is not helpful to customers that should use these reviews to help them decide what to buy and what to avoid.The injury is not pretty as reflected in the pictures and it is painful and if this review helps anyone so the better ,that is if Amazon allows it this time around. Well what can I say. I have a rotator cuff injury and the no.1 thing that eases it is ice. Trying to work with frozen peas or a Mateus wine bottle ice cover 😆 is not easy. Saw this and ordered same day Prime. Got it straight in the freezer and I have it on this morning whilst sitting in bed. It’s perfect and I know I shall be using once or twice daily. Amazing..... yes you have to mess with the straps to get comfy at the start but.... this gets cold... this will freeze that shoulder up and get the swelling down... torn rotary cuff so in and off with ice to take swelling down and this was a godsend so easy to Chuck in freezer and take out, can also put under a towel and lay on it with your back for trapped nerves or bruising... will also fit around ankle/leg.... I ordered this ice pack for my frozen shoulder condition, and it has been a great help. It covers all the region's where I experience pain, the upper arm, shoulder and upper back. It is a little bit difficult to fit tightly enough yourself, so is much more effective if you have someone to help you tighten the straps. I would recommend this product. Read more

So I'm not sure if it's because I'm a bit on the skinnier side. When I'm able to put this on, the icepacks rests on my shoulder bone.Chilling only the bone, and not the areas where's it's inflamed.I have an area that constantly flares up, near my deltoids, and I find it really hard to try and ice the area. Other than leaning against the wall, and pushing the pack flush onto that area.It's a bit frustrating because I feel simply using a bag of peas might be better value at this point. Read more
