We needed a red night light for our daughter's bedroom because the white night light was, obviously, not allowing her to sleep very well. However, she likes bright light when she falls asleep because she is scared of the dark. So, we bribed her with a cute unicorn night light that has the red light we prefer when sleeping. We love it! We pause it on the red light and that color offers just enough light for our daughter to feel comfortable while falling asleep. I took off 1-star because the instructions for pausing on the color you want are not exactly correct. My kids LOVE these... until they lose the ability to charge after 1-2 weeks. I have purchased 3, and every single one stops charging within days of normal use. i am the only one that plugs & unplugs them, so I know that I am carefully inserting charger into the port and not handling roughly. The horn comes off so this would pose a choking hazard. I threw the horn away and still use the nightlight. It is very cute and gives off nice light. I was a little disappointed with it. In the questions, it states that you can buy one with a remote and one without and the remote will work for both pets. It does not. My child was very disappointed that they couldn't use the remote with the unicorn. If I had known, I would have just bought another remote lumipet, but I figured that having one remote was fine. I got his night light for my girls who are afraid of the dark. They are ages 9 and 6 but ended up loving this light. At first, I thought they would say it is for a baby, but no they thought it was adorable. We love how it changes colors and that’s their favorite set up. We bought the owl version with the remote from buy buy baby for our daughter (age 3) who is afraid of the dark, but her little brother (age 2) decided it was his night time buddy so we quickly ordered our daughter the unicorn via amazon. I don't see the remote as being necessary, our kids understand the "bop it" feature to change brightness/color just fine, they also can turn them off and on without help.
