This color is perfect! It's the blue/black color and it was literally exactly what I wanted and turned out perfect. I'm naturally a blonde and have never gone dark before and I have NEVER dyed my hair with a box or by myself for that matter and it could have been a disaster but it turned out so pretty I love it! I'm 28 years old and have been dying my hair all colors since I was 15. Black has always been default , I've done many blacks from boxed to beauty shop dyes, and this is it , this is the best black I have ever tried . I am telling you this because after one week of being scared and using very mild shampoo and cleansing conditioners to not loose color my scalp could not take it anymore and I was forced to use my clinical strength head and shoulder( I get crazy flare ups around front crown ) I really thought I was going to dry my hair and have faded looking reddish tones popping up on my hair like I always have before and I was wrong. To my surprise my hair still has the perfect amount of blue tones and no ugly reds and it's really shiny , I am in love. I bought this after seeing the good reviews, but I am so blown away by it. I am naturally blonde, but a few months ago got my hair dyed brown at a salon. I didn't want to keep paying the salon price, and I wanted to go to black. I tried other brands but none of them got my hair even remotely black. I'm not very good at doing my own hair, and though I made a mess while using this I was blown away by how good it is. I dyed my hair with this about 5 weeks ago, and it is still midnight black. UPDATE: I dyed my hair in February! It is now May and it is still black!!!I’m never using any other hair dye again. This brand is it. I used the ultimate black and I loved the results from day 1. My hair looked soft and real without the plasticky look other brands give. I got this dye after a different brand washed out of my hair completely in 5 days. Look at this! I have used different brand of hair color, including L'Oreal (which used to be my favorite) for many years. This particular product (Black Color) purchased here in Amazon was very weird! I might be the one with bad luck (since I see a lot of 5* reviews); however, in my personal opinion based on my experience again it isn't worth even 1*. First of all, it had a very strong smell that scared me. I had to open the bathroom's door to let fresh air come in because the bathroom fan wasn't enough. Arrived early! Note that the box says this hair dye works best on naturally brunette hair and will not produce the midnight black for lighter colours. My local drugstore shutdown so I have to get my hair color online and am happy with how quickly it arrived. Read more

Can't say this made a very visible difference. I have very dark brown, completely untreated hair and I got a very, very subtle blue tint. More subtle than I'd hoped for and it soon wore off. It did make my hair soft, shiny and somewhat darker for a couple of weeks. I just don't think it was quite worth the money or effort. The tube of conditioner that comes with it is great, though.
