I bought this specifically because it's supposed to be for darker hair. My roots were dark brown and the rest of my hair was a faded red, the product of bleaching and dying red, which I hate doing but apparently its the ONLY way to get the color I want. This product specifies that it's for dark hair, no bleach needed, and has 3 levels of lift. SO TELL ME WHY IT TURNED ALL MY HAIR DARK BROWN WITH A SLIGHT RED TINT??? The hair that was red before? Dark brown with a red tint now 😤 I've attached pictures of my hair before, although my roots had grown out considerably, and my hair this morning. I'm beyond irritated and there's nothing I can do cuz it dried my hair out so bad that if I try to redo it with bleach and better dye it'll fry my hair 😑😑😑 long story short. False advertising. Should've bleached it first. Intense red is LIES! And I will never buy Loreal dye again. Read more

First, I did add Adore Mahogany to this to warm it up even more. I do not know if it altered the color that much. I actually did an ombré with this so the Soft Brown color is more accurately depicted in the middle of my hair. I lightened the ends prior to dying and I didn’t leave the color on the ends too long, since this is already a high light color. Read more

Loreal hicolor is my go to hair dye. It really is a good brand but i suggest going to sallys. I use it on my afro natural hair but this particular batch did nothing. I tried coloring extensions as well as the ends of my own hair.... Read more

I have very dark ash brown almost black natural hair with about 10% grey. My hair is dyed dark burgundy red with permanent dyes. If you put reds or burgundys on super dark natural hair it builds up and you only see the color in the sun. Which is nice too. But I like it a bit brighter. So once a month I mix deep auburn red or red violet or a mix of both with 30 Vol Oreal developer at the listed 1: 1.5 mix. Leave for 35 minutes. If the color does not match my current color choice which varies from really dark red to really purple. I just dye it the next day all over. I use permanent on top, but demi direct dyes like adore or manic panic on the ends as my hair is super long and SUPER spiral curly and thick. Which is a pain. Tend to be super dry , why I try to keep permanents off the lower portion. I have very hard to lighten hair, so why people say it doesnt work I dont know. Just look at the photos. Speaks for itself. Photo with thumb is before, you can see how dark my hair was. Next 2 are after . Still went even, so even lighter after dry. Read more

Like many other reviews, I did not end up with a copper tone, but instead very deep red-brown. I had an ash blonde shade (bleached months before from dark brown), so there was no shade conflict, nor was the hair damaged. I used this shade way back when it was a commercial box color with perfect results, not sure what happened now, as I am familiar with stylist mixing too, and have done many times before with other shades. Everything done to precision, right time, etc. For the first time ever, my hair got very sticky and it did not rinse well, it over saturated badly. I had to remove this color all together. Shame. My favorite permanent red hair color. I have naturally dark auburn almost red-black hair with a bit of grey and this both gives me the perfect red and covers perfectly. Now that most of my hair is this color I only use 20-vol developer (Ion brand) because there is no need to use 30. I wish they had a product that wasn't "for darks only" because since my hair is so red it isn't really "dark" anymore. Also, I used this twice over the course of 2 months over black dye and it worked great (I used a light non-damaging color corrector was first on the first application). I've never tried to use it closer together than 4-6 weeks because I don't want to damage my hair. Easy to use if you're willing to buy a brush and a bowl, measure out the dye, and take the time to make sure you get full coverage, and hundreds of dollars cheaper to go from black to red without going to a salon. I usually just go the semi permanent hair color route cause it has no harsh chemicals but this time I wanted to try something that might last a little longer. Overall the dye was great I used the matching developer in 30 volume. I’m no hairstylist so it’s not perfect I had some application errors all my fault but overall I’m impressed. Read more

My hair is pretty dark and the colour didn't really pop. You can see slight red-ish highlights at the ends of my hair under certain light but overall it looks black. Maybe if you hair is a bit lighter it will catch better. Nontheless it didn't have the results that it claims to have since it says that it's for dark hair and my hair barelly has any difference after using the product. The box also came in a bad condition but i guess it was because the delivery guy squeezed it through the postbox. Read more
