I used it on my dyed (darker) hair and it did fine. I do have a license so i tend to be braver than most but i wanted to see if this would work on my dyed (plum wine ) colored hair. My natural hair is strawberry blonde but i've been dying for 30 yrs...I wanted magenta highlights running through my plum/wine hair so i used a mixture of the proper loreal developer ratio of half/half mix of the 20 vol and 30 vol....when mixing this ratio, you'll end up with about 25% volume developer. Which means i'm lifting about 2.5 shades of my color from the hair before depositing the magenta. (20 vol means lifting two shades, 30 vol means lifting 3 shades and 40 vol means lifting 4 shades before depositing color.) since my natural color had grown out a wee bit, i knew i would have bright areas there but i always dye my hair in a two step process. So, after mixing the developer and the magenta together, i applied using a small firm angle brush and just streaked it in all over the upper 3/4ths of the head. (I have a very long sharp angled bob) I let it process for 35 minutes and rinsed in cold water. After air drying outside in the sun i went and made up a small batch of the plum dye that i use which is a 3V shade (dark violet), i used 10 volume developer (that means to deposit color only, no lift and non damaging) I then went back through and filled in over the super bright scalp new growth areas and any area that was too bright. Let that sit for 30 minutes and rinsed with cold water. (i will deep condition and use only color treated products with this) I ended up with a nice variety of plum and red/magenta stripes that looks great together. I would recommend this product! But please, know what you're doing and exactly how to use the products in order to get the result you're looking for. I believe this is meant for naturally dark hair...not dyed but as i said, i'm braver than most...and also trained in this field. (for over 25 yrs now) Read more

The color is nice, but quite useless because I have to wear my hair in a loop so that it doesn`t stain other clothes as well. Or wear black... No need to mention the sheets, bath tub etc...Anyway, lesson learned L`Oreal! Read more

If you are looking at this product and feeling hesitant, worry no more! This gives beautiful highlights and I used it monthly when I touch up my own hair. My friends spend between $80-$130 bi weekly whereas I spend maybe 25$ a month to keep mine looking good. Read more
