First, the good: It has a lot of bells and whistles. The saw and drill continue to make noise if you keep them pressed down while other toys will stop. The nails make noise too when they’re pressed down if you press them again. It’s also very lightweight. However, there are a few things that irk me about it, so the bad: The toy is made in China (ok, duh), but it sounds like it, too. When it says “four” it says “foh” and when it says “two” it says “tuh” and... when it says the shapes, it says triangle, heart, square, and then round. Round??? You mean, “circle”? Read more
Wow. Like other reviewers, one of the best toys we've bought. Still going strong after two boys, and their cousins playing with it for 2+ years.Sure, it maybe mispronounces some words (Engrish) but this no doubt started my oldest on his little engineering kick he has been on for a while now. He is OBSESSED with tools. It doesn't help that Daddy has a big, shiny, Snap-on tool box with $15K worth of tools in the garage...now he wants to see what all of them do.Picture a 3 year old running around your house with a Makita bit driver ( Makita LXDT06 3-Speed Impact Driver ) , looking for furniture to disassemble...terrifying...But when they play with this toy, you can literally watch the little gears turn in their head. We have gotten hours of enjoyment out of it and a few minutes of frustration after sticking things down the pipe that don't belong there. I will get BTFO by the SJW's but this is the perfect toy for my boys. Read more
This product looked exciting, but we were disappointed on two fronts. First, it only partially worked - several of the light-and-sound effects (on drill, saw, and letter-shapes) would only work sometimes - usually after you toggled the on/off button a few times. Seems like an electronics fault/defect. Second disappointment for us was that it was a bit smaller than expected - not dramatically so, but the dimensions (of the main bench and parts/tools) make it feel already a bit small for our 18-month old daughter. As soon as my 15 mo baby saw this, he lit up and started playing with it. It last a solid half hour! He like that the ball causes noise when he drops it in the hole. He struggles with the shapes still, and gets frustrated that he can't make it work right. Instead of getting upset, he sends them down the same hole the ball goes in. He knew exactly what to do with the screwdriver and wrench though his dexterity isn't quite good enough to turn them correctly yet. He's obviously been watching Daddy! He prefers to take the tray out and just reach in to grab the shapes that drop in, but he will try to put the tray in and out by itself. He also loves the sound of the saw and will hold it down and mimic the sound. Read more
The toy itself is pretty nice. The quality is good and very creative. The different noises and songs are nice. Great for kids that enjoy noises. The number panel on the front will say each number as you slide the plastic piece over and it's definitely a voice with an Asian accent. Not a bad thing by any means just a little funny to hear. Also the toy is smaller than I expected. I'm giving it to a 1 y.o. and he's a little small for his size so I think it's be a good fit for him. Read more
This is a nice birthday gift. Comes already put together in a nice box. All you have to do is put in 2 AA batteries then it’s good to go. Each power tool is attached to the bench so no worries about losing those and they make nice power tool sounds. The music is nice. It only comes with one ball though. The shape sorter is easy and the tools that detach are perfect for little fingers. Got this for my grandson’s 1st birthday. Read more
I got this for my older daughter when she turned 1. I am not usually a fan of noisy light up toys, but both of my daughters really loved this as toddlers. It did help them practice shape recognition, the tools really work on the screws and nails so that helped them with fine motor, and they loved watching the ball disappear. They loved the songs and would dance along. I would say this was entertaining from about 9 months- 3.5 years old. Read more
My kids love this toy. I don't know what it is about it, but they love it.My youngest is a screamer. When you get him in the car, he cannot (could not) be consoled. No snacks nothing will help. But, he'll play with this toy for about fifteen minutes before he starts going crazy again. At home my two kids fight over it. Read more
