My love for these thin little strips has no bounds, but the numbskull packaging is a gigantic buzz kill. Let's start with the good part: The strips put out the fire of awful breath almost immediately, and they taste so good and open your eyes so wide that it's a miracle they aren't distributed by prescription only. They're just downright wonderful and I use them for more reasons than just breath control. First of all, when I start getting hungry when it gets into the wee hours of the morning, instead of reaching for a late-night snack, I pop a few of these in my mouth and all temptation is extinguished. There's one more benefit that makes them indispensable: They put an immediate end to writer's block. An Altoid or two used to be my go-to writing icebreaker, but this is my new pocket pal. Pop a sequence of three or four in my mouth, and suddenly I'm in an instant flow state. The reason I gave this product three stars is because of their incredibly tone-deaf packaging. There are 12 packages with 24 tiny, thin strips in each plastic box. Around each plastic box, there is a plastic bubble embedded into a paper card. Outside each of those is another paper sleeve. It's as if someone was trying to make this product seem more valuable than it is. I would estimate there is a 1000% markup for these little pieces of flavoring whose packaging probably costs its makers more than the product ingredients. Marketers at ripoff opioid-pushing pharma company Johnson & Johnson -- probably overwhelmed with even more greed than their usual stratospheric amount -- think these puny strips are worth their weight in gold.Never mind that they almost *are* worth their weight in gold to me -- but I think instead of drug dealer Johnson & Johnson, any honest food manufacturer could copy this idea with enough changes to avoid copyright litigation, or even improve them. They could then manufacture and distribute them for 10% of the price of these ripoff strips and still make a significant profit.J&J, please come to your senses and think about how many landfills you are filling up with this useless, incredibly dumb packaging. All that cardboard, bubble wrap and printing expense alone probably represents almost all of the cost of manufacturing this nearly weightless product. Eliminate all that useless paper packaging by putting a stack of 50 strips in an easy-open biodegradable pack, and lower the price by 90%, and this would be an ideal product. Read more
My box arrived undamaged, and all the film packs were accounted for. Some people whine about how much paper was used in the packaging of these, but this box was designed for retail (if you read the top of the box, it says “Recommended Placement: Near front end cash registers”). If you’re very environmentally conscious, there are 3-in-1 packs that are a couple cents more expensive than this one. Read more
Product was defective, however I didn’t notice until after the return period. The “strips” were literally “shreds”. Definitely received a defective batch. Read more
These tiny strips help with my symptoms of an oncoming cold, sore throat or sinus congestion, even though that's not how they are advertised. The claim that they destroy bad breath germs led me to try them as soon as my throat gets scratchy, or nose gets stuffed up. I put one on my tongue just as I'm going to bed, and if I wake up in the night, and by morning my throat feels good and I'm breathing easy. It may not help with a serious condition but I have relied on them for the last 10 years to ward off head colds. My entire family inherited reoccurring sinus troubles so I was very happy to discover this simple, economic help from Listerine. Read more
Had to bump it down one star. Love the convenience of Listerine Strips. But I always forget what an unbelievable waste of packaging & time comes with it! I prefer to keep them in a jar. So the photo indicates what you get vs all the unwrapping necessary to use it. Read more
I really like Listerine PocketPacks, but this particular way of buying them is not a good choice. Here's how it comes out:1. Shipping box2. Listerine Box3. 12 Individual pocket packs, each one enclosed in: * an outer cardboard wrapper * an inner cardboard+plastic holderI've usually seen these as a 3-pack, where you get 3 of the little guys in one package. That makes a lot more sense than this big waste of material. Read more
I usually buy these at my local drug store as Three pack. I was thrilled to purchase these in larger quantity. Sadly quite a few of the pieces were stuck together. Don't know how long they were that way prior to being shipped to me. Must have been in a hot environment. I had to throw away a few packs Tried using the stuck together strips but it was too intense. Brought tears to my eyes. Hint: shake each packet. There's a different sound of a useable pack of strips vs a solid melted clump of strips. Read more
I think the Pocketpaks Breath Strips work much better than the Pocket Mist spray. I also don't think they give you that alcohol smell, so that if you go and talk to someone right away after using it, people don't get that strong smell. This, they get that really fresh breath smell. I think the effect lasts longer with these, too. I love buying them in this quantity, too. It's nice to get this many at a time, and be able to just grab a new one every time I need it. They are terrific. Read more
