I have fine hair and faithfully used Mizani Regular for years applied by professional stylists. Every months I would apply it to my new growth believing that it was helping to prevent breakage at the line of demarcation between my new growth and previously processed hair. I noticed that my hair was looking furry in the sun. And I noticed that my hair was looking thinner. But, I did not stop until my hair got to the point where I figured out how to manage the new growth through deep conditioners and did not feel that I needed to chemically straighten my hair. Now what? it has ben over 4 months nw since my last relaxer, and my bad days, I want to reach for a relaxer and end the whole stretch period. But, now until I understand what went wrong and what to do right. So, I ran a test to figure out what to do with my hair. I plucked some textured strands from my hair brush. And, I started a timer and applied Mizani Mild to one strand and Linange texturizer to another. On the Mizani strand, the curl pattern had significantly softened in 5 minutes; the curl had significantly less spring back. In only 13 minutes, it was bone straight and likely overprocessed. On the linange strand, the curl had full spring back after 5 minutes and looked the same, after 10 minutes, the curl still had spring back but it folded back into a circle with a bigger diameter, and after 15 minutes, it had softened into a loose wave. After 20 minutes, it was in a looser wave. Optimal seems to be 10 minutes or so, but the 20 min mark is straight but it still not oveprocessed. With this extended period of time at the spring back stage, this formula is practically fool proof.I repeated the same thing with hair from my edges. As background, after 4 months without a relaxer, my edges are growing in. And I don’t recall them ever coming in to the extent that they are now. But, without a relaxer, they look unkempt and I am struggling to get them to behave with edge control products. The longer they grow, the harder it gets. So, I would like to relax them so that they look nicer. At the same time, I feel like I am seeing my edges growin for the first time, and I want to protect them. So, enter edge test.I coated a strand with Mizani mild diluted with oil (4 oz relaxer in 0.5 to 1 oz of oil) and with Olaplex. The other strand was coated in the Linange Mild. Notably, these edge hairs processed in half the time. In 8 minutes, the thinner were processed at the level that the Linange Texturizer had reached in15 minutes with thicker hair strands. Notably, these curls had spring back. My points here are - The Mizani had to be diluted to achieve the same results as the Linange out of the box and that this level of sensitivity to chemicals was probably why my hair was breaking and thinning. Not only were we using regular strength but also I doubt that it was rinsed off and neutralized in 8 minutes. Now what? For me, I plan to continue to learn about how to use products with ceramides, pH and porosity control. moisture balancing treatments (Aphrogee), coconut oil and other ideas to try and preserve my fine, shoulder strength. One thing is for sure. I do not plan to ever use a Mizani relaxer on my hair again. And Linange looks like a winner. Read more
I used this for years but switched to the relaxed because I just wasn’t wearing my hair curly.Soooo. I use it on my daughter’s (Bossy Teen). I don’t know hair types and don’t care because it is like a class system. Her hair is a fine and curly afro and she did not like it but wanted to wear her hair natural. To apply, I started in the back of her head and my total time was a little over 13 minutes (10 minutes for the front). I use a large tooth comb to part hair and I apply with my gloved hand. I do not comb through at all. Just use my hand and comb to apply and smooth. Then I rinse and use the neutralizer conditioner (I follow the instructions). Her curls are well defined, bouncy and drop. It goes from a day, triangular shape to rectangle. (Hope this helps). She loves it. We don’t fight about her hair anymore.Anyways, we are on our 2nd application. Last application was exactly 12 weeks ago. I space applications every 12 weeks until hair is past should length then go for every 4-6 months. By this time the weigh of the hair does its thing and you may not need it. At least for my hair the is what happens. I was repeating applications because I would blow dry my hair every now and then and my hair would reverse if I worked or if there was any extra moisture. Her hair is much finer than mines. After shampoo/conditioner/treatment, I use kinky curly or any product like this and a bit of curly pudding sometimes and air dry. For overnight, we pineapple the hair on top or she just sleeps with a silk bonnet. In the morning it is curl refresher spray (in between the hair, you hand part hair in a few spots and spritz until the hair is where you want it). Takes just a few moments. On the weekend, we do a wash and deep condition and then repeat.I like this because I have a very simple fuss free style and now my daughter has one too. She loves her hair and look. She always receives compliments.Anyways. Good luck to you. Read more
I've been using linange texturizer for a little over a year & linange relaxers before that. In efforts to decrease the processing of my hair & increase the length, the texturizer works wonders. My old hairstylist moved to a shop that did not carry nor would order the texturizer. Needless to say I moved on to the next. New hairstylist ordered, but not in time for my next touch up. I bought this in the meantime wary of the "made in Yonkers, NY" on the label. All other products from linange/alterego have been made in Italy. I was right. The product smelled like a relaxer all throughout the process & gave my scalp tingles pretty early on. Not like the texturizer at all. Luckily, I based my scalp & hairline with vaseline & coconut oil the night prior & the day of. Expressed my concerns to my hairdresser & she literally tested it on her hand. It began to tingle on her almost immediately. Luckily, she is a pro & mixed it with a lot of oil to weaken it & placed it on my hair. Once she was done she began washing right away. The process may have taken 10 minutes at best. Once done, my hair was perfect. The unruliness was gone, but I still maintained curl & my hair was not straight. Buyer beware to use a tex-lax approach when using this product & you should be alright. Read more
Je recommande ce produit mais éviter de l’appliquer sur des cuirs chevelure propre. J’ai appliqué de l’huile de coco avant l’application de linange, je suis satisfaite. Stp ajoutez des gants pour le prix. Read more
