I bought four buckets of these bears. I needed three sets of 3 bears, in the 3 different sizes. There are 90 baby bears left, all orphans, with no mama bears and papa bears. A few of my students will not be able to participate in my math activities, since they will not have the same sets of bears as my other students. The activities I had planned are very important, but now I have to wing it for those kids who get the bags with all baby bears. I bought these with my own money, this Distance Learning is very expensive!I wish the company I bought these four buckets of bears from, would be honorable and responsible. I want 15 mama bears and 15 papa bears sent to my house right away, so I can do the important hands-on math lessons. I will gladly trade 90 baby bears for 15 mamas and 15 papas. Read more
Nice color, BUT there wasn’t 96 bears in the tub. I thought the tub should have been taped/sealed closed somehow, but it wasn’t. The break down of each size and color was different. I only got 86 and the break down was weird. Large 5 yellow and 4 each purple, orange, red, blue, green. Medium 3 each purple and orange, then 4 each red, blue, green, yellow. Small 8 blue, 7 yellow, 6 each red, purple, orange, green. The bears themselves are nice and the shipping box along with a couple of other items in it was ok. I just want tub full that has the correct amount in it. Read more
These little bears feel great in your hand. I don't know why. They're not squishy or anything but they just have the right weight to them, if that makes any sense. I gave my toddler a handful for the first time the other day, wondering how he would respond. He LOVES them. Apparently they feel good in his hand too. He and I are both very "sensory" (he is diagnosed with sensory processing disorder, and I imagine I would be too if I had been born now instead of in the dark ages before SPD was a thing). So far we've used them playing with cars and trucks, in the water table (turns out they float!), in the wading pool, and for practicing number and color recognition. They have infinite uses in play. They're just really great all around. And if you lose one - or five - it's no biggie because there's literally a tub of them. Read more
These bears are great learning tools for children. I worked with preschool aged children for 10 years and these were always in the classroom. I recently purchased these for my 2 year old son and he enjoys playing with them. He uses them for imaginative play and color sorting. We are working on sorting by size and counting, but he is more interested in color sorting. I will also use these in the future for teaching him patterns. This size container has enough bears that more than one child could use these at the same time to do sorting or pattern work. There are three different sizes that are easy to tell apart. The red and the orange are fairly similar in color, but you are able to tell them apart. Great purchase for anyone wanting to do color, size, patterns, counting, etc with small children. Read more
I used those little bears as tokens for training my son to poop in the toilet. He could pick one little, medium or big bear whenever he did so. As you can imagine, he had a growing collection until he felt he did not need those bears anymore. Now that they do not serve as tokens anymore, I use it with both of my sons to sort size and colours, reproduce patterns and count. Read more
I am a toddler teacher and I got these bears for my class for various activities. So far they are amazing! The “papa” and “mama” sized bears are safe for children to use, however the “baby” sized bears do fit in a choking hazard tube so if they are used they should be with close supervision. Overall I definitely recommend them! Read more
The only thing negative I have to say is that the medium and large cames in sets of 4. These days the schools are teaching them five and ten frames but, it's still doable. I used 4 of the smaller ones and then one of the larger ones in explaining that every since one gets larger. I'm homeschooling my kindergarten and 2nd grade grandchildren. This bear family helps me in explaining sizes of numbers a lot more easier especially for kindergarteners and younger children who are visual learners. Read more
I got these for my son because we are having to home school due to Covid-19. He’s blind and autistic and these are great for him to practice picking up small objects and putting them back into the bin. They’re also different sizes so he’s learning to describe the difference in size. For example I’ll give him a large one and I’ll ask him if it’s big or small and he will tell me. I’ll hand him a small one and ask if it’s bigger or smaller than the one before. He loves them! Read more
Beautifully tactile, chunky bears made from quality moulded hard plastic. Each has identical embossed fur, paw & facial details, rather cute! Three sizes; Large, Medium & Small. Six vibrant colours; Red, Blue, Yellow, Purple, Green & Orange. Three weights; Large 12 g, Medium 8 g, Small 4 g. CE Learning Resources guide sheet included. Total 96 bears comprising of:Large 24 bears ( 4 each colour ) Height approx just under 4 cm 1 ½ “Medium 24 bears ( 4 each colour ) Height approx just under 3.5 cm 1 ¼ “Small 48 bears ( 8 each colour ) Height approx just over 2.5 cm 1 “All bears are in the sitting position, so easy to use & position. Small bears have a small circular indentation on the base. Medium bears, a small circular hole & large bears have a large circular hole, as though a pencil topper. These aren't toppers, I guess this is for the correct weight of plastic. They all live happily in the tub when not getting up to mischief. The clear tub plastic is brittle. Flexible lid plastic pushes over the tub, giving a snug and secure fit. From the guide sheet...“ Three Bear Family Counters are perfect for helping young children act out and understand abstract math concepts. These adorable counters are also great for imaginative play! “...“ Activities focus on these number concepts; Sorting, comparing sets, addition, counting, estimating, subtraction, visual memory, patterning and sequencing “...The guide sheet gives a brief synopsis for the following activities...“ Sorting by Colour and Size, A Colour Parade, Counting, Zoo Bears, Counting Game, Estimating, Visual Memory, Sequencing, Number Stories and Zero Bears “.Initially I handed the bucket full over to my little one, 2 ½ yrs, with me. Shrieks of laughter followed from the first look & joy handling them to positioning them in lines & sorting into colours. These make a satisfying sound all mixed together in a large bowl, they feel wonderful too.We have used our bears in a variety of ways over the years, both inside & out, from informal exploratory, imaginative play, through to formal math sessions. Sometimes we used their bucket balance scales, which we recommend too. They have been put into random containers & little bags, giving capacity experience, hidden in sand with glitter & shaving foam; great to feel the sizes asked for & splashed in coloured water. They have been printed with, leading to matching the bear to the same colour & pattern sequencing. Sorted into colour, size & weight sets. They have helped with addition, subtraction, division, multiplication, memory games, estimating & find the bear. They have been used as ingredients in the play kitchen & in muddy witchy brews too, not one complained! Imagination & language flourished as wonderful stories were told through these bears, in their own right & with other toys. They proved useful with preposition understanding too, the bear is on, under etc. These little bears have certainly played their part, adding to real life numeracy & literacy experiences. Also ours have proved over the years, enduring pretty intense play... to be indestructible! These are definitely keepers; hopefully grandchildren will create their own magic one day. Read more
Really pleased with these. Good quality lovely colours. I red reviews on other counting colour products and there were alot of complaints about orange and red looking too similar making children confused. But not with these bears!I bought seperate colour bowls to go with these bears to help with colour sorting and the colours match lovely.Nice solid plastic that can withstand getting thrown about and dropped by my toddler. Very pleased. Theres 16 of each coloured bears. 3 different size bears. My little girl loves the *baby* bears.I would recommend. They come in a little clear tub that seems fairly strong as a container to keep the bears in. Read more
Bought for a 2yr old and she loves these counters! Especially when they're tidied away after use.. they're back on the carpet and she's having so much fun sorting them into coloured bowls. They're bright and attractive, although the red and orange are quite close together in terms of colour, as are the blue and purple, but under good lighting in the room it's easier to see. Would buy these again definitely, the toddler hasn't put them down for long so far lol. Great learning opportunities and useful for learning patterns later on, by colour or size eg blue/red/blue/red or green green yellow green green yellow, etc.Highly recommended! Read more
Somehow smaller than what I remember these bears to be 15 years ago. The size of the small bear is absolutely tiny. The whole 96 of them fit on a not so large jarOtherwise great for small world play. Go well with the sorting cards and bowls. Read more
HAPPY with this purchased. Good quality, nice detail and well made. Will definitely last years and years... longer than she will be able to play with them. I think its slightly over priced for what it is. But they have been great for my little 2 year old to learn to sort colours, sizes "baby bear, mummy bear, daddy bear" and I'm currently teaching her how to count properly. She can say her numbers 1-20 but now I'm attempting to teach her to apply this properly and actually count. These are a great way to do it Read more
