This is an AMAZING learning tool that I highly recommend buying. I am a therapist for kids with autism. My materials get a lot of use from different kiddos, so I can attest from my experience that they are very durable and excellent quality. Many of my younger clients are barely starting to speak. I recently ordered 3 new toys for my toddler (21 months old) and of the 3, this one is his favorite! He absolutely loves taking the animals out of their barns and then putting them back in. He names the animals as he takes them out and practices their sounds. I was really impressed with how durable the animals are. They are not made of flimsy cheap plastic and will definitely hold up to the abuse that a toddler boy can bring to a toy.We've had this set for about a week and he continues to play with it almost every day and for a good length of time when he does. One of our favorite toys! Both my toddler and preschooler love this, and it definitely grows with your little one!The pieces are colorful, sturdy and easy to clean! The farm animals are so cute, and can be used as finger puppets for imaginary play with little ones. My daughter loves to play silly games together and put the animals in and out of the barn. As soon as the box was opened--I got a headache from the strong chemical smell! We figured out that it was the animals themselves that had the gross odor. Don't have any idea what they're painted with, but I wouldn't give it to a child young enough to be still putting things in their mouths frequently. I saw these on a montessori Facebook group page and needed something to nix up the toy rotation. I saved them for this morning when I needed an hour. And boy did they deliver. My 17 mo played with them all morning, opening and closing, playing with the animals, switching the animals. When we came back later, she picked right up again and began to play. I ordered this with few other things to have few toys our two youngest grandkids can play with on frequent visits. Now that the two youngest grands are mobile & with winter months upon us, we needed some things they can play with & hopefully hold their interest & leave the older ones toys to the older kiddos ( sounds good in theory, anyway). These barns are cute & both little ones can put the little animals on their fingers, which they are very pleased & proud of themselves. We talk about the animals & the sounds they make, but at jyst tyrned 1 & 15 mo, they just like being able to take the roif iff each barn & play with the animals for now. Yes, the goat’s identity is still questionable at best. I wish it was a more recognizable animal. They could’ve done a sheep or rooster or chicken or just about anything that is more obvious than this goat. But it’s fine. The other animals are cute (I mean, the goat is cute but he just doesn’t look goat like really). The animals are actually finger puppets (big holes at the bottom for one adult finger or a few child fingers) and they’re a sturdy, hard plastic. Probably would hurt if a kid chucked it hard enough at a tender spot. Anyway, my daughter (13 months) is big into putting smaller things into bigger items, so this is perfect for her. Read more

This is one of the best toys I’ve purchased so far. My 14 month old daughter and almost 2 year old nephew love playing with this for quite long periods of time. They both love taking the animals out and putting them back in. Also very durable and good quality, not cheap plastic. Could not recommend this enough. I got this set because my daughter loves things she can open up. The animals inside are all really cute & made well. However I did notice the paint on some are marked or already scratched off. I was expecting the barns to be a softer/cushion plastic like a rubber bath toy, but it's hard plastic. This toy has different areas of learning for your little ones with the colours, numbers and types of farm animals while they play. The finger puppet ability is a bonus. Not exactly what I was expecting but my 2 yo loves it! He's obsessed with farm stuff and this has become one of his favorite toys. I thought it would be bigger, the animals are "Little People" animal size and are made of hard rubber but seem extremely durable, the barns are relatively sized so the animals just barely fit. The barns are thin plastic. I actually thought the animals would be plushies but still was not disappointed because the function remains the same. A couple of complaints: the animals JUST fit in the barns to the point where a couple of them you have to angle them in there to get the lid on- this can be difficult for young children. Also, the sheep.... doesn't look like a sheep. I only knew what it was by process of elimination and have had to argue with my 2 year old about how, yes, that IS a sheep.
