Depending on what setting you’re in, you can listen to the story, or focus on letters and pronunciation in the story, or hear music/sounds from the story. The last pages of story are counting but only 1-10. Also can push a button to get a question/quiz on any page you’re on. It’s impressively well thought out on the lights out flashing the right place to encourage kids to follow along and the lights on buttons even flash the right number of times when counting. This book has been a super hit with my toddler. I got it for him when he was 15months old and now at almost 22 months he still loves it! The pages are sturdy plastic and they are absolutely intact till date. The music is quite pleasant and my baby seems to like it too. The pictures are nice as is the story. My baby finds the book quite interesting and it gets a little easier for me to teach him things in it. No negatives so far! A must buy for any toddler in my opinion. Read more

We ordered this as a birthday gift for our nephew who just turned 3 and loves dinosaurs. I wanted a 'talking book' he could use to continue to develop his alphabet, numbers and reading skills and this is perfect! The audio sounds out the letters for repeating which is exactly what we wanted. There are also separate functions to read along with the story, count to 10, and play music. My son likes it. Seems to hold his interest far longer than the leapfrog leaptop we got him to practice his alphabets. There is more way to do with this dino than with the other alphabet teaching toys out there. The reading story part is also an added bonus for us. Read more

Love it! And so does my 1 yr old daughter. Dino is beautiful and perfect for the developmental stage that she is at. Most if not all her toys are educational and dino helps reinforce what the others teach in a fun and girly way.I am slightly concerned about the pages. I dislike that after having it for a month and half, it is broken. It won’t register the first 2 pages. I’m so upset bc she is now learning her letters and ABC’s and we were gonna use this as a learning tool. Read more

Would have been a great toy, but mine came with a damaged box as well as broken, despite having 2 other items in the same box that were perfect. It had something inside of it rattling around. My son didn't want to keep his hands off of it despite it being broken already. It was supposed to be his birthday present. Amazon has the purple one which is exclusive.
