I couldn't update anymore the old version of this toy because the company discontinued the software... all I need to do is to change the name from the one of my oldest son to the one of my little one. Apparently the company does not care if . A LOT of people still have the old Leaptop working and want to still use it. Given this, I bought the new version and I am VERY disappointed. This version is not customizable like the old one. I can insert the name, but is never spoken by the Leaptop anyway. Got this for my 3 year old for Christmas. She specifically wanted a "laptop like mommy's," and this fit the bill perfectly. I wanted the full keyboard (many similar products have fewer keys), and I don't mind that it is in alphabetical order, rather than the usual QWERTY keyboard setup. She loooooves pretending to type like she has observed me doing, and it doesn't hurt that there are little educational games and songs as well. She also likes that it flips over into tablet mode. I bought this tablet/laptop for my grandson and one and a half year-old son. It was a Christmas present for them. They Love playing with it. They can carry the tablet anywhere. Mine broke after a month and my baby really loved it so I had to buy another one. Second, the tablet-laptop feature does not quite work. We purchased this item because we saw the old LeapFrog AlphaPet in daycare and all of the kids seemed to enjoy it.Clearly LeapFrog AlphaPet has been used in daycare for many years, and still working.However this item - LeapFrog 2-in-1 Leapfrog Touch broke after about 2-3 minutes of use. It was sitting on the table, and our 2-year old was just starting to explore the alphabet buttons.The screen lights up, and there is a gentle rumbling sound coming out of the device, but it does not respond to input.Would not buy again, or replacement. Dead after 2 weeks! Toy was delivered on the 29th, by the 13th the toy went dead. So I replaced the batteries and it worked for a few minutes, but you could tell it had a shortage in the wiring. Now it will not even turn on. Daughter loved the toy, it's educational. However, it's pointless when it doesn't work. It also arrived with scuff marks on the screen as if it had been used.
