It’s very seldom that I take the time to review a product, but in this case the product is so good that I felt compelled to.Over the years I’ve used many hair products (my wife thinks I’m nuts), and most of them have been useable but average.I ordered this product on a whim, and am I ever glad I did. I’m really particular about what products I use, and I wanted something with a matte finish, super strong hold, something that could be restyled throughout the day if needed, and something easy to use.Guys, I’m not throwing my money away anymore on expensive hair products that don’t do what I want. This stuff is awesome, it does it all. Since buying this I’ve tossed out most of my other products, and many of them were much more expensive than this.I’m not sure if anyone reads these reviews, but if you do, give it a try. I started with the smallest jar, and I’m not even halfway through and am buying the larger one.Just blow dry your hair, put about a dime size blob and rub it through your hands to warm it up. Not sure if they changed to formula since I bought it the first time, but it is not the same. The first time I bought and used this product it was great. I thought this was the one Im going to continue to use but the second time I bought it was TERRIBLE. It does not keep my hair up at all and leaves my hair greasy and almost gel like hard. The texture of it wasn't the same either, it was weirdly creamy and almost felt like a liquid play doh. Not really sure how to describe but it is definitely different. Does not work for me anymore. I just got my first faux hawk haircut, and have been trying different styling products left and right. Some were too gooey, some made my hair feel crusty, and some didn't dare to hold up my hair (the top is like 3-4 inches). I also dance, exercise, etc, so I needed something that could hold up all day. I bought maybe 20 or so different options to try, took notes on each, and ranked them on the qualities I needed. Granted, everyone has different hair needs. For me though, this is an amazing product. It keeps the hair flexible, yet holds strong. It has a matte look and provides texture and spikiness without being crusty. It does not make my allergies go mad. It also washes out SUPER easily! Best of all, it has a delicious, vanilla-like fragrance that I just love to smell. Bonus points- I found out if applied on dry hair and I use a fine tooth comb or brush to brush my hair into shape, it will stay up all day with just the one product! Before, I was using a base volume product to blow dry hair, then add a second product. Now I can just let my hair air dry, and put a little of this in! The big jar is also an amazing value. I've tried many styling products for my hard Asian hair, and while some Japanese and Korean waxes have a solid hold, none of them ever wash out clean and require conditioning then shampooing to fully remove the rubbery finish. I recently tried the Duke & Cannon Hurricane Pomade from Target, excited since it claimed to "wash out easily" -- but that wasn't the case. Asian hair is notoriously hard to flatten without splashing out big bucks for a perm -- and wearing hats all the time doesn't physically change the nature of your hair (I don't know why so many guys recommend that. It doesn't do jack.). I had used the Original version of Layrite years ago when I rocked a combover, but wanted something with a more solid feel, as I generally do not like the greasy feel of pomades. I didn't know there was this Cement Clay, so I took a chance based off Layrite's easy-rinse promise, and it was perfect -- the clay has that solid, matte finish and actually holds your style down. It held down better than the Original formula. It washes out alright with a conditioner first, then shampoo next -- although sometimes it does still seem to leave a slight film in your hair (but most clays unfortunately do this). My only wish is Layrite released fragrance-free versions of their stuff, as the cream-soda scent can be overwhelming sometimes. But overall, as long as I want to rock combovers, I think this is THE product. Asian guys with hard stubborn hair who want to get their hair flat, this product does it. But note for long-term combovers, I've heard it's still best to perform some chemical treatment to flatten your hair; less product and time needed to style your hair properly. Read more

Eww, first they screwed up the layrite superhold pomade and now this one. So they changed their products to please others, but screwed others like me who "used to" love their stuff and who have been using their products for years.This crap curls my hair now, short or long hair it will curl my hair and the hold sucks. The old layrite clay, had the perfect hold and the perfect matte.I'm done with this brand. Yuck! Read more

This product is amazing. I use very little, yet it keeps my combover neat and sharp throughout the entire day. After my twelve hour shift, I go running afterwards, and my hair stays in the perfect combover position. There is very little shine, as it leaves a matte look (just the way I prefer it). The only downside to it is that when you apply it on your hair, it gets very thick and a little hard (this is how it retains its shape throughout the day), so when I go to take off my shirt, the shirt gets caught in my hair a bit. Not a big issue, but it gets annoying as it pulls on my hair and is a bit of a nuisance. Other than that, it’s great if you want to keep your shape throughout the entire day. Read more

Smells like wax and vanilla. You may not like to smell like that all day.More so, and despite rubbing it in your hand for 10-15 seconds as directed, it doesn’t hold well. Can be applied to slightly damp hair, which is a bonus. Allows a good degree of hold over the day, but not stiff, so hair can be reworked without it after wind or rain to some degree. Not completely washable as claimed, but no big build-up over time and problems with waxy pillow covers as some stuff does.The smell is a bit sickly at the start (vanilla), but I'm now on my second tub, so I guess I'm used to it. Clairement on est sur un produit au top , on commencera par apprécié que le pot est livré directement dans l'emballage colis d'Amazon sans suremballage inutile.Le pot , avec son bouchon dorée façon boite de conserve est vraiment sympa , ça rajoute un coté authentique au produit et peu nous faire pensé aux vieux pots de cire que nous pouvions trouver dans la salle de bain de nos grands parents🟢 l'odeur est super agréable , je ne suis pourtant pas fan des produits à la senteur vanillé mais la c'est trés agréable et subtil , l'odeur tiens pendant des heures .🟢 la texture est bonne , une cire pas trop dure et facile à étalé , on sera surpris de voir comment nos mains deviennent blanche quand on étale le produit dans les mains mais une fois sur les cheveux , elle s'applique ultra facilement. Contrairement à la cire que j'utilisé jusqu'à la il est inutile de vous mouiller les cheveux pour une application plus simple.🟢 La tenue est excellente et vos cheveux restent en place sans le moindre problème , c'est la meilleure cire que j'ai pu tester jusqu'à maintenant .🟢 La composition quand à elle est excellente , aucun substances nocives ou sujet à la controverse mis à part le Phenoxyethanol et le Coumarin , substance qu'on retrouve dans certains conservateurs . Attention ce n'est pas parce que la notation est excellente que le produit est naturel , il en est loin . mais 99% de sa composition est excellente.Pour conclure je dirais donc que c'est cire s'approche de la perfection .
